Man companies have been going bonkers over stuffing engines in this car. Nice to see GM finally have a worthy small car to do it to.

dropping a 427ci, 550-plus-hp killer small-block crate engine into a modern, 2,800-pound roadsterholy crap!!!11!!1! sounds crazy. On top of that the above pic looks really good. Wheel fitment roxr

the new solstice supposedly isnt as great as the miata, cause of the extra weight, steering feel, and stuff. this is only GM's first crack at it. i hope, for competition's sake, that they get better at it. this is a HUGE first step. im not really a fan of most american cars, but this is sick.

I originally thought thsese things looks like big red penises but upon further review (and with taht wind splitter in the front) it just looks mean as hell

I can dig it.

I've always liked these roadsters. Their bodystyling is damn hot.

Anyone else considered the Crossfire?

Crossfires are based on the SLK chassis, yes thats right, FWIW I would much rather own a SLK than a ugly as sin Crossfire.
Solstices look great on paper but are big in real life almost as large as a Vette and not nearly as dope looking. They are a poor attempt at a Roadster on Pontiac's part. Then again the 350z ragtop is pretty meh too.

Crossfire's handling is outworldly, just liek the Solstice/Miata.

I love handling. Who needs power when you FEEL like you've got it?

OMG, Crossfire!

Thats nuts! As much as i like the idea, they should have obtained a Solstice in the turbocharged trim and maxed out that engine. It would have been a great marketing stunt for GM. I know this was more of a private project with the assistance of GM, but this suggests the Solstice is slow and clumsy and it needs to be modified before its fun.

Crossfire = RWD LeBaron :barf:

Dude that game RAWKED HARDCORE!

Not a fan of the car though. Only thing I liked about it is how close the preduction car was the concpet. And at the time the concept was pretty uniquely styled.

why would you wait for the turbo to spool when you can have power throughout the whole band. power on demand rocks.

Didnt Car and Driver had a comparison between the Solstice and Miata? Miata still kicked its ass. Wonder if they would put the turbo solstice against a S2k. But then again if the solstice cant beat the miata, could it take down the S2k.

Anyways me personally, for some reason, i like the saturn SKYs bodylines better.
