go to a junkyard, i got my old lip from pick n pull for 20 bucks. you get lucky sometimes! oh and why did you paint your glovebox red? black would match way better. how did you get all that felt crap off(the yellow stuff)

Yup, its not paint. I went down the street to Joanns(fabric store) and bought some red vinyl. I went with red because I am going to go with a red/back theme in my car.
I think black actually would look alittle hotter and my girlfriend was getting in my car and just put a huge scratch in the vinyl. The Lip I bought off of some guy on the recycler which I guess didn’t know how much stuff was worth….he asked 40 but I asked if he would do 20 and had him meet me by my house. What a DEAL!!
Rainer- Yup, I got on the Gutted Cat, I'll post pics later, but it took SOOOOO LONG!!!! The s14 cat has smaller holes where it mounts onto the exhaust, so I had to re-drill out the holes and buy some new gaskets which I had to modify cause they didn’t fit flush but all and all….you can feel a baby gain But you can hear a better sounding flow!! Very nice!! Thanks again!!!!!!!
Caoboy-Ohh….and as for the yello stuff on the glove box, I just ripped off the ugly Mexican cloth looking stuff and just layed the Vinyl down on top.

Haha, Joanns FTW! I bought hella black suede to do my doorpanels and glovebox there. I think I have just enough left to do the headliner, think it would be sick? :hsdance:
Plus you guys, I think he's trying to say he didn't take off the yellow crap...

Hey tt, can I suggest making your box look like black instead of red? Or Dark grey.

No need to sand it off....I did this same thing to my glove and my arm rest, w/prob the same material, from Jo ann's and it came out really nice...and I did mine in black:coolugh:
How difficult was it to cover the glove box? I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine.

it was easy..I took off the old cover carefully and used it as a template for the new material. I didn't cut the holes that I needed until i had laid out the material on the glove box. I then put it in place w/a generic spray adhesive and tucked the the excess around the edges and fastened them w/a staple gun and I was done. I'll see if I can post some pics in a little bit...ok here you go

Glovebox is very easy to recover. Rip off the old tweed crap, use it as a template to cut your new material. Spray the glovebox face with adhesive and the back of your material. Wait for both to start getting tacky. Apply new material to glovebox and smooth it out. When done correctly, it can look almost stock. Here's mine.
