well after 6 days and a lot of new tools to play with i finally got my clutch changed, not bad from doing my first oil change a month ago (i've done other stuff like belts, hoses, thermostats, stereos, alternators before though) Now that everything is done, the clutch engages nicely, very light though but it's a stock replacement so.... anyways
When I try to put it into first it sometimes doesn't want to go in, I changed the tranny oil and added 2.5 quarts so what could be up? Need more oil? Needs to break in?

I hope you didn't drop anything in the tranny when you had the shift boot off....ouch....
Well I have a 95 240sx-se And I have the same problem, Mine does it with 1st and Reverse, I just let the clutch out and try again.. What could this be?

this happened to me today. I just switched to a manual from an auto yesterday and drove around fine. I went to school this morning and as I shifted out of 5th when taking the exit, it wouldn't shift into ANY of the gears. I had to start it in gear and drive in 2nd to the school (not far). Found out that the clutch pedal needed adjustment, cause even if I start it in gear, the car will want to go even with the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. so I got it adjusted and it's fine, for now, I don't know but it might happen again, I hope not. I had to get towed from school.

I'm pretty sure I didn't drop anything in, i had the holes covered when i had the tranny out. So adjust the pedal eh? What needs adjustment?

<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> The KA and SR trans do not like standard trans oil, the work best on synthtec oils like RED line. You also need to make sure you do not need to bleed the clutch hyd system..

Ah that could be it, maybe i'll put in synthetic tranny oil, they didn't enough when i went so i got regular valvoline. Thanks, seems to be better today though.
