the 1985 Toyota Cressida:
5mge making about 155hp at the crank, and what feels about 16 hp to the rear wheels
Automatic, not sure how many speeds, i think its a 4 speed:
slow, really slow, reverse, broken.

i'm going to pick up a gallon of Rustoleum gloss black, some microfine rollers and a shitload of sandpaper in the next week, strip all the trim and emblems and rollerjob it, Moparts style.

Also, no one here coule possibly have an uglier or more boxy car than i do.

haha, screw the "just kidding" i bought the car with that on there, and its not staying on there for long, if i can help it.

I have to make the decision between a KA-T and a 2j, now. The cressy needs suspension work up front, and the original 5m has 180k on it, and is just flat out TIRED.

I'm looking for some neat little 15's with destructo sized lip, fender flares (maybe modified ae86 flares), and since it shares suspension with a supra, you can better believe this thing will be on the ground when i get the money.

Cressidas are dope and all but when it comes down 2 buying suspension its hard most people incorporate MK2 supra stuff like shock and springs.

Go to TechnoToyTuning.com I believe they carry parts for that car now. They also carry 15x7 Konig rewinds with a zero offset. I bought all off my ae86 part from them.

They have the exact same suspension setup as a MK2 supra, thankfully.

i'm still not sure which damn car i want to daily drive now! KA-T would be fun as hell, but no one suspects a boosted 4 door beater.

also, i may be able to post pics of it being black by this weekend!

KA-Ts are fun. How far along are you with the 240? If you are not too into it the MX73 could be a fun project. I think so anyway, at one point I was seriously thinking of selling the 240 and getting serious with a 1JZ or 7M-GTE Cressida.
Sell the 240 and buy a new motor for the Cressida!

the 240, right now, is getting an electric fan. i have the turbo, walbro, and was saving for the mani and injectors, and i have a spare megasquirt sitting around if my room mate will donate it. the thing is, the s14 is SO much nicer inside, i'm not sure which one i want to turn into the weekend beast.

Thats the thing. The 240 has more potential ultimately as a track car, and will be easier to setup and modify.
The MX73 could be a lot of fun and very rewarding in that DIY way. Personally, I am shooting for the best of both worlds. I actually own an MX chassis car ( 13 years older than yours! ) that I am fixing up to be a cool streetcar and keeping the 240 as a track mostly car.
If you own it and like it, its a project. Thats just the life of a car guy. So if you are not serious about doing something with it, loose it. That just my advice from personal experience.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic about that car being ugly. But years ago, my parents owned one.. That thing is one of the most gangster Japanese vehicles available in US at the time. If you're lucky, you swipped the 5spd version. Car is awesome, plenty of potential motor wise, but suspension.. it's not tooo wide. I also had an Mx83 few years ago, but I got too happy with it on one too many occasions... hahaha. Mx73 wagons are where it's at!!

Yeah, your new daily driver isn't reallt UGLY. It may be old but it's not ugly compared to other P.O.S.s being sold now.

Thought i would update you jerks even though you dont care, and will probably hate me for this, but we've decided the best thing to do with this cressida is to leave it stock.

ok, i'm kidding, on monday, i'm talking with someone at work helping me find a nicely priced small block chevy 350. Can someone say 400rwhp on pump gas?

updating this because i just bought the ugliest engine ever, and its sitting in my garage, being hella orange, and making me laugh like a retard who just ate a bunch of legos:

http://random-m.com/images/645623096_IMG_2096.jpg

350 out of a 69 vette, making 300 hp stock. I've priced out a wild ass cam, a new 4 barrell to replace that horrible Q-Jet peice of garbage, and some block huggers, and i'll be at 400hp, a lumpy idle and horrible gas mileage.

I just need an R154 tranny now, and a bellhousing and tailshaft crap from either dellow or rodshop, and i'll be busting diffs and axles in no time

(start flaming immediately)

the l46 makes 300hp stock, i dont need new heads. I can't afford that anyway.
