The guage cluster lights and tail lamps are on the same fuse.
I recomend checking he fuses again. Use a voltmeter set at OHMs.
Sometimes the fuse may look intact, but isn't.
99% it's your fuse.

Replace your blinker fluid. But only use lead based fluid.

Check all fuses in the underdash fusebox. Then check all fuses and fusible links in the underhood relay box.

100% of the time if you get some random electrical problem out of the blue.... CHECK YOUR FUSES, preferably before you post.
hitting redline does not kill your cluster, or taillights.

hmm I had that problem in an S14 I just bought... previous owner left some wires bare and it blew the tail light / dash light fuse. It's a 10 amp fuse on the right row of fuses.

Myself and many others were just making it clear to double check.

haha, yea.... i remeber this. when i bought my 240, it had this problem. its a small capacitor in the digital dash cluster. (im guessing you have a digital speedo? cause thats what i have, and the capacitor is right behind it. ) i know that if u drive for a long time, it somehow "heats up" and turns on *magicaly* and it works fine untill u let it sit for awhile and let it cool down. then it doesnt work anymore. anyways, i found a site that shows you how to fix this problem, (with alot of detail...ALOT... ) good pictures too... it looks more confusing then it is, im 16, and i did it. took me a hell of a long time, but i got it done. you need to soder in a new capasitor. easiest way to put it. here it is .....
http://multi-index.myonlinesite.com/240sx/240sx_speedo.htm
i advise trying it, nothing to lose. it costed me 23cents and a trip to an electrical store, and i used a friends soder'er. (the nissan dealership told me 400....)
but yea, thats exacly the same problem i had (dash lights and brake lights)
BUT....only one of my brake lights work now.... im thinking its got to do with something else tho...
if you got any questions, or run into anything, pm me, il help you out.
