Hey guys, on my White 90 coupe, they put some black 5/8" tall striping all the way around the car, most of it would come off, but on the front, and rear bumper it was being stubborn, what do you guys suggest me using to get it off? btw, it is in a groove, so I cant use a blade of any sort, and I tried a heat gun, an that did absolutely nothing. Thanks for the assistance

Mine is like that too. The sides came off fine, but the rear bumper was tougher. You can use a heat gun to keep it warm, then just peel it off with your finger nails and some patience. I used a little Goo Gone as well and that helped out a lot. It's safe on paint, or at least it was on mine!

i heard maguire step 1 cleaner is good for that stuff.. haven't tried.. will soon.. or just go to your local car parts shop.. and ask them for stuff to clean out factory stickers and stuff from the car.. they all have something good!

It took me one and a half hours with a blow dryer to get it all off. I got the lower black stripe and the upper ugly factory/aftermarket stripe. After all this I took some polish and wax and got the rest of the residue off. It just takes alot of time and patience. Just get out there on a hot day and use the blow dryer, it was well worth it for me.

I believe local shops call it paint thinner

I don't know specifically for that s13 but on my s14 a heat gun works wonderfully. Get it hot enough and the pin stripe just comes right off with a fingernail or whatever. I don't konw what grove your talking about, but I would think anything you could get in there to scrape lightly would work after its nice and hot...not too hot tho
I used generic googone stuff to get the remaining glue off...works great. Just wax once your all done cauz the googone strips it.

Thanks for the replies guys. As far as the heat gun goes, on the front right fender it peeled most of the way off, but left the sticky residue behind, so I guess I do need something like the goo gone. Thanks again.
