I started my car today and it wasn't good, the motor was almost bouncing it was shaking so bad. I drove it around the block and it was running like complete shit. I didn't have time to check anything out cause I was already late for work. I've never seen a car do that before. It was completely fine when I parked it last night. I'm posting from work right now and wont' be able to do much to iit tonight. Any ideas on what the hell this is? I'm pretty sure it's not fireing on all cylinders. Could it be the timing chain? Need help thanks.

It can be alot of things. Was your motor knocking at all before it happened or has it seemed to be in good shape? Could have a bad injector, fuel filter, timing could be off, etc.. Are you throwing any codes? My first suggestion would be to check your plugs and see what you come up with...

Motor was running great and only has 93k on it. Don't know if it would have anything to do with it but I put new plugs i last week. Damn this sucks I just got my new meshies on yesterday too. And I just got it out a couple weeks ago from winter storage.

Pull the plugs and check for discoloration either black or white. And check for differences between cylinders. You could have a fuel or ignition problem and the plugs will clue you in.

Maybe you put the plug in incorrectly, or one of the wires is disconnected. Check your work.

Well Sunday it fired up and ran perfect. So I drove it to work tonight after checking all the wires. When I left work it started running like crap again. I played around with it a little more and found out cylinder 1 wasnt' firing. But then after shutting it off and starting it up again it ran fine again. I actually dont' have a spark plug wrench, I do everythig at my grandpas house. But if it was a bad plug wouldn't it not fire right at all?

That's the cause of your dead cylinder.

Check the cap for hair line cracks on the inside, and corrosion on the electrical contacts in the cap, check the rotor for ware, check the plug wire ends for damage. Swap the #1 plug with another plug and post your resulte. That should narrow it down a bit. :D

Thanks that's pretty much on the weekend agenda. I'm pretty busy during the week, well when it's light out anyway. I actually have a new cap,rotor and wires sitting here waiting to be installed. When I changed the plugs 2 weeks ago I used Bosch +2's, which i've heard aren't very good from a friend who actually said he's had two foul out on him. Ok will try that and rebump if i'm still having problems.

start the car.

get a long screwdriver. put the metal end of screw driver on the #1 fuel injector. put the other end on your ear. listen to hear if it's clicking.

click click click = good
nothing = bad

I'm pretty sure he doesn't have this problem anymore considering it's 1.5 years later. Although I do recognize your heart was in the right place.

Regards.
