hey i saw a 240 with a 2JZ swap in it, wanted to know if anyone other then me has seen it? i believe i saw it in a magazine... but what is your guys opinon on this? i know the 2J has alot of potential but is it worth it? is it hard to do the conversion? or is it as easy as an sr/rb swap?

been seen. there was actually a shop that specialized in it. had their own "stages" and everything.

and why would you think it would be as easy as an SR swap? that motor never even came in a nissan, let alone an S chassis. The SR actually came in the S chassis car, so the drivetrain is...you know, built for it. If you really want to go 2jz in an older car, get a 3rd gen supra.

When swapping an engine from a manufacturer besides the original maker, the hardest part will almost always be the wiring.

Seen it up close at a local shop. Looks hideous. If you just want power, for drag or something, then maybe, but definitely not for driftin...Way to heavy for the chassis, specially s13. Not even sure how much power you can extract from it, looks like there is no space to even upgrade to a bigger turbo or other bolt ons. doesn't leave much space for anything else other than the motor. Stick with SR...

and an RB is lighter? please

2jz and 1jz are amazing motors
very driftable.
power? stock will easily put out about 350 w/ MINOR bolt ons iirc.

well u dont know much
its VERY EASY to run a HUUUUUUGE turbo on the car in the 240sx engine bay.

90rps13, giving out misinformation is both detrimental and down right annoying. Please refrain from any further displays of this behavior.

2jz/1jz are VERY capable motors. In an S chassis, its pure sex. I'll have one one day. Its the only motor i'll swap into my car. The "hardest" part is the wiring. And even then its not impossible. You can fit a large turbo all day. What are you talking about?

Please just stop...

Yeah because EVERYONE buys S-cars for DRIFTING!!!

Plenty of room to upgrade to a single; seen it done using normal aftermarket parts.

2jz and 1jz are no heavier than the RB25 or RB26... get over yourself

If you want true sex in your car then try and find a way to fit a VQ into your engine bay.

theres a fuck load more space for turbo upgrades in S chasis bay then there is in JZX90 bay.

and who fucking cares if you add a couple pounds, your adding more and better power. area under the curve. think about it.

next thing you know people wont want to drive thier cars cause thier fat asses will add to much weight.

1jz or die

There's one here in town that should be able to do 900ish to the wheels. I have done setups just like it in the past in supras that have pulled the number, only difference here that might limit it is the engine management he chose. The car weighs maybe 2400 lbs and with the power it should make will likely run mid 130's on pump gas.

Umm. SEARCH. First try on google. First result. SEARCH:2jz 240sx swap. For those not quite familiar w/ searching:nono: :http://members.shaw.ca/kfgroup/240sx_-_2jz.htm

Excellent read on when one would acually have a need for the high hp the 2jz can throw down. Enjoy.

Been there done that. Did it with a 1.5JZ Swap. 2JZGTE block with 1JZGTE head ported and polish with Jun valve train with Power FC 9000RPM Redline hotness. With a T51-R Kai and the associated fuel made an easy 743 at 15psi. Search on KFG and you will find it. Oh yeah at those horsepower levels you will either need a T-350/400 or V160/161 Getrag.

Before I left NJ for cali 4 years ago...i run into 2 S14s 2JZd in Englishtown. Talking to the guy, he said there were a total of 5 of them that he personally knows off in NYC. And that was before almost anybody in the states had a RB swap, 2JZ were already done up.
