Engine shipping

I was wondering how many of you have shipped an engine before? I'm looking for a freight company with reasonable prices to ship my engine that I have for sale. The only places I've found so far have been rediculous prices($500+). Thanks guys.

the price depends on where you ship it to and how heavy the pallets going to be; and dimensions. the $500 quote might not be that ridiculous.

You think thats funny. I work at volvo penta distributer. Just sent an engine to alaska with a huge discount still costing $1000 haha.

Instead of calling frieght companies. Try calling freight brokers/consolidaters. They might be able to get you a better deal. I had a number. But its already in the trash. If it comes around again i'll let you know.
