Just like I said in your last thread, you have the gift of beautiful craftsmanship, and you have NEVER let me down when I open a post by you. Keep up the good work, sir. I have not seen welds as quality as that in a long time. Take note kiddies, THAT is how custome work SHOULD look.
+7 for you.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I am seriously trying to have the car driving by the 10th of may. We are taking the Bismo and my car down to the redline time attack event at beaverun on the 13-14th. There is a test/tune track day at nhis road course on the 11th so I want to have the car tuned. I don't know if I'll have the antilag dialed in by then but I want it to be ferocious at the track:bigok:
Suspension consists of Ohlins 40mm front dampers, koni yellow rear with custom ground controls. Bladed 1" swaybars 32mm front, 22mm rear w/ 6way adjustability.
Full Ti piping on the exhaust side after the turbine outlet.

Bill it's looking amazing as always and I am really excited to see it in action.
BTW, it's Angel from Forge Motorsport and Silicon Hoses :)
Which spring did you put in the actuator? From memory of what you were looking to run as far as boost you would likely be best off with the red... just an fyi.

Angel,
I figured I'd try the one that came in the actuator first. I think the red one is in there as the extra one is white(I think). Thanks again, I'll get some tuning results as soon as possible.

I painted the interior and exterior last night. Most of the body parts have to be painted still but the engine/interior can finally be installed for good. I can't believe this thing is finally rolling around:bigok:
I need to finish the exhaust (3.25 inch Ti), make the schrouding for intercooler/oil cooler, brake lines, fuel lines. I'm not going to make the redline time attack at beave run but Alex is going to head down in the Evo 2.

What kind of suspension are you planning on running? It looks like Z32 Al knuckles with konis and links but that's all I can get from the pic, would love to hear details if your willing to share.

The rear quarter ducts are for the radiator, ugly but functional, like group B. The ohlins are low mile units that I found from jdm land for $200. I found a small amount of info on them and the adjustment range is huge. I have a friend in NH that rebuilds ohlins for bikes and some rallycars and he said they can be revalved however I liked. The springs are matched for both dampers. Nothing like an underdampened rwd car. Some more pics.

I know this isn't being built for drifting so no need for a huge rear bumper, but what will be in its place if anything? Also, why does it look like the wide fenders are not attached to the car in the rear? At any rate, I am glad to see you are keeping it sexy in the rear with the kouki tails.

Now that thins is nice!!
But, do you mind pming me more info on your damper setup?? What I want info is on those konis in earlier shots of the rear of the car. I wanted to see if you had koni buuild you a set as I would like to know a price ( I actually spoke to technical character but he never got back to me).
Also, my interest is more than piqued about that evo 2. Do you mind pming me info on that car as well??

Ralliartrsx,
The rear konis were going to be revalved but after talking to ground control, the spring rate they chose for the rear will be perfect for the stiffest setting on the stock koni yellow Z32 300ZX rear damper. I took close to 140 lbs off the rear of the car but the radiator added about 50 when filled. I think the koni are about 150 per damper to revalve.
The Evo 2 is a japanese import, brought in by an austrailian friend of ours. He moved back to AU and Alex bought the car from him. It has all cusco suspension bits, Zero2 R coils, braces and swaybars. The engine is essentially stock bottom end, early big port head/intake manifold, stock turbo. Alex made the intercooler piping and the ecu has been modified with 1.1 bar. It is super quick for the age and mods done to it. Definitely one of the best handling street cars I have driven
http://www.dentsport.com/gallery/d/2967-2/bb.JPG
Do you know Michael Fennell, a co-driver from Kingston? He came up last summer to co-drive in the Escort WRC we were servicing for in Maine Forest rally. He stayed in boston for a few days and is a really great guy. Jeffery Panton, Peter Moody, David Summerbell? They all rallied up here for a bit.
blackflag_Rms13, is that your car in your sig. Its pretty badass.

Yep, know of those moody and panton guys. I am actually from kingston, st. andre myself. They also race at dover and lots of those guys were working on evos before alot of us were born. I also remembered Panton having an Ex-works Celica GT4. The Summerbells are/still are big evo gearheads. I think the last I heard they were also running an ex-works evolution 7.
There is also a guy back home called janspeed with a blue evo 7 that was rumoured to be running either motec or autronics and was tuned by non other than the man himself, Norris designs over in the UK(street car). The scene back home is just going crazy it seems. I think I remebered a guy called Barnes running an evo 2 with no backwindow deep into the 11s. There was also a blue one deep into the 10s, if memory serves me correct.
Micheal Fennel?? Hmm, the name sorta rings a bell. Did he co-drive or drove an evo 2 or 3 with factory Ralliart graphics in some of the US rallys??
I havent really been given a chance to follow the scene back home too regularly. I will be though once this semester is over as I am planning to spend a few weeks down there.
But, also, do you mind sending me some import and licensing info on that evo?? That has been the 4th or 5th import evo I have seen in the US (The last was a white 6, an evo 3 I think owned by AMS, another with a silver one in Florida somewhere, and a few others which escape me).
Also, I am still interested in knowing more about those Konis. Thing is, I ran them on my previous street car (yes a Honda, laugh all yall want) and I want to figure a way to run a threaded bodied koni up front. My plan was to have koni fab up some threaded body front dampers (OTS yellows) and slap some gc coils on them and camber plates in front and run the OTS yellows out back with the same gc coils and camber plates. This is suppose to be a street/auto -x setup. But, I have had such a good experience with koni, I really dont wanna leave them "hanging."
P.S Sorry for the long post

Ditto on that. I am charting the same territory with trying to bring some front weight to the rear.

Just some updates on the car before its next time out on the 31st. The car was supposed to make it down to the redline event at summit point on the 6th but we ended up running a car for the xgames so that took up about 2 weeks. I can't wait to get the car out again though and will have some incar video next time out. I have yet to make any swept runs on the dyno but will when I go to tune for above 1 bar, up to 1.8. 5 lbs of boost is available from 2000rpm with the ALS on. I added an electric water pump in the rear and can vary the flow back to the engine. The coolant temp is fine until about 3-4 laps into an event and then the pressure can't push enough of the cool water back to the engine. THe fuel filler is complete. Brakes ducts are in the process with crawford composite pieces modified to fit the s13. The cabin gets into the 130 degree range without ducting so the exhaust got some extra shielding and two extreme velocity brake duct fans were mounted where the stock heater core would be with twin 3" outlets. The titanium exhaust is starting to turn a nice blue color and releases a good amount of heat.

Where did you get those brake duct fans? I've been thinking about something like that with a small heater core for my car. I need to keep the defroster in there just because I know if I take it out, my car will always fog up.

The brake duct fans are built into the carbon schroud. You can buy single brake duct fans in 3 and 4" from most motorsport suppliers. For your defroster, I know I have seen portable small defrosters for motorsport applications/windshields where a heater core is no longer used. I'll see if I can find them.

I've been looking around for the stuff all night. I found several places to get the fans either from motorsports places or boat places. But I've been coming up empty with the heater core stuff. I know I've seen it posted on different forums more than once, I just can't remember where or get the right search terms. Let me know if you find anything about them.

I am getting ready for a test and tune day at Louden on Thursday and have a good amount left to button up before then. I finished the schroud for the intercooler/oil cooler pack. I'm excited to see the difference in charge air/IA temp with the new schrouding and added helper pump for the coolant. I am going to take some in car video and will post it when I return (hopefully with the car in one piece )

The test day went well, though my shifter broke in half. Fortunately, NHIS has a Lincoln sponsored welding room with about 20K worth of brand new welders. They gave me the key and it was fixed in 20 minutes. The cooling issues I had are gone and the response with the antilag on is almost too much. Full boost is right there when your foot returns to the throttle so it feels like a big block v8 at 5000 rpm when you are at 2500 rpm. I need to do some tuning in that area. I have a potentiometer to hook up to the autronic which will act as a 0-5v input. It then modulates the pulse width for the boost solonoid according to where the dial is. One more trip to the dyno should be enough to get it finalized at ~1.5-1.8 bar. I've heard so many SR20s but never one that sounds this raspy and high pitched. At 5500 rpms it sounds like it is revving at 7500 and at 7500 it sounds absolutely mental. Sway bars will be hooked up before the next event. I failed on getting an in car camera in there as I was sorting things out until 3am the morning of the test day. Next time I will have one in for sure.
