i just spoke to the people at JWT today & they said it was $600 to reprogram an ecu. isnt that a lot? call me crazy, but i always thought that it cost $350(dont remember where i got that price from). for all of you who have the JWT ECU in your cars, did you all pay $600? i figure there is no way to get it cheaper since you have to order direct from JWT, right? damn, $600 just seems like way too much to reprogram a chip.

That's how much they quoted me too. I havn't bit the bullet on it yet though. $600 probably won't seem like that much after the reciets start stacking up <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

Yes.
And I was just gonna post that one word, but you added stuff...
So, they are not reprogramming a "chip". They have to rework the entire ECU. And since we have 2 choices, those companies can charge what they like. Although... if you only want a non-custom NA ecu, go to jetchip.com. They can do it for like $375-400.

I don't think the Jet-chip's remove the speed limiter though. Or at least thats what I heard. I could be wrong.
Dont get anything but the JWT ECU. They are badass, and one of my fav NA Mods I did for my old s13. It gives you a 10 HP/TQ gain @ the wheels all through the powerband. Well worth it IMHO.
I have pics of a Dyno, I will post it later when I find em.
