There's been alot of hype that the value of the 240sx, ae86, soarer, ect will go up after this movie comes out. opinions?

It will increase the fame AND infamy of them.
Value will not increase, asking prices will balloon, I personally plan to keep mine and lay low until this whole shit blows over.

This topic has been beaten to death. Dig up one of the older threads to read everyone's point of view. No need to create yet another thread dedicated to this silly movie.

I agree with PHLIP. Value will stay the same, but the asking price of them will go up.
Bandwaggoners: get your 240's now before it's too late. :loco:

even if the price goes up, I will still keep the 240SX... and I hope to acquire one before it's too late.
There will be a hype.... soon.....
Highly doubtful that much will change. It will probably inflate the import ricer scene a little. This isn't like the first one where they simply do 1/4 miles. Drifting isn't exactly something you pick up like nothing at all like driving fast in a straight line. And I really doubt there will be a point in the movie that will actually explain how to drift. Also I have yet to see a hachi or s13/14 in any trailers so who knows.

for one thing, there were always the import scene and its not gonna escalate whatsoever. Plus i doubt that they'll explain in detail what kind of mods are on the cars itself such as... sr20det. i'm sure they can find out about them if they happen to come by these forums but its highly improbable that the ricer scene will watch the ff3 movie and go out and buy an sr for their ff civics. not that i'm baggin on civics.

you mean it hasn't already? i remember when I bought my first S13 with a stock SOHC and it cost me 1500 bucks. recently when i was looking for another, there was a guy that wanted the same damn car stock for 2900. People are expecting more for them because now there's a demand. Back when I bought my first car, you didn't see them too often. Now they're all over the place, and people want way too much for way too little.

^^^ I agree, we may have a bit more room before we hit the ceiling on this. But anyways, I just saw a stock Sohc s13 trying to be sold for 5k... ouch...

thats what im talking about. i'll just swap in a KA and keep the motor. then i'll find a clean title car and swap the motor in. then sell again! lots of work, but lots of money to be made. i only bought my s14 for 2300, now im sure its worth more then that! only 102k on the odo. and its SE black.

the things to worry about is sr20's will go up in price because of more demand. So if you dont got a motor do it now

Demand of 240s? Yes.
Value? No. There is more to value than just what a 16-25 year old would pay for something.

Due to the ricers watching the movie, they'll probably want what they see on screen. Fortunatly or unfortunatly for us, there appears to be a shortage of S13's and S14's in the movie, with screen time taken up with evo's, Z's, and fortune-kitted FD's. Maybe this will cause a demand for those cars while actually dropping the price of S-chassis. I doubt it, but if it does, maybe I should sell my Evo for an inflated price, and buy an S14 for every day of the week:naughty:

watch the member counter a day before the movie comes out... that weekend we'll have a few thousand new members.
to stay on topic, I agree with Phlip, the asking price will go up a 3-4grand more depending on what is done to the car. I plan on getting another 240 down the road, but we'll just see how much of an impact this movie will have on our side of the car scene.

2 ref tickets that cost over $500 each, 3 speeding tickets, pulled over a million times for no damn reason. Not to mention all the crap i had to go through fixing things on my car..I mean, dont get me wrong but some people here, like me, dont have money like that. I love the car, but i dont love the car enough to sacrifice ALL of my money.

Ditto. In a couple years I was going to start looking for a 98 with as low of miles as possible. I really hope this doesn't have that great of an impact on them.

I saw a preview for it a few days ago....your right; mostly evo's and Z's. But I did count a few S15's and one 180SX.

That was in the preview I saw to. I actually laughed out loud (quietly) in the theater

did any of you ever see that f&F3 s15 movie car they were selling on ebay. they wanted like 20grand for it and it was all stock except for the bodykit, graphics, and rims. it was pretty gay.
