Friend just got an N/A Z32

A friend of mine just go a non-turbo 5spd Z32.  I was talking to him about it and he said he wanted to "drop in an SR".  I wanted to smack him.  I know very little about Z32's and this kid seems to know less.  So, help me teach him or show him so places to help him out. Do you guys know of any sites geared toward Z32's? (especially non-turbo).  I really don't want to see another Z32 with a wing higher than the roof and LED washer squiter things riding around town!

I have personally seen a lot of totalled z32 TT on ebay and around town (in VA)  Have him get the vg30dett and forget about the sr. The sr and the vg n/a make about the same hp but the sr in a heavier car will be just as fast.  I heard that turboing the vg30de was a bad idea and it doesn't hold up well under boost.  If he wants to do the work let him put the vg30dett in

On a side note, we have tons of riced out NA 300zx's with the large wings. Funny looking. Sad too.

To not dis on your friend that can either be very stupid or very smart. There is a SR20DET powered 300ZX in Japan running 9 seconds in the 1320. Thats not an ez task using the VG30DETT.

yup we had a thread about that car, and what the hell the engine is pretty cheap would help out in the handling department, doing the vg30dett swap would probably cost more and given less weight on the sr u'd get a nice package in the end with more tossability

Do they SR! That would be really cool! Probably a desent amount of fabing, but dang that could be fun!
