I've been testing out my engine by driving around the block for about 5 minutes or so and when I get back to the garage the car idles really weird like it has asthma and can't breath w/o me pressing on the gas.

Now when I first start it up when it's cold it idles perfectly but I guess when it warms up it starts acting up. I've checked the MAF and it's working fine, the only other thing I haven't checked is the 02 sensor to see if it's wired up correctly. Is there any way I can check if it's working correctly?

I also just changed out my spark plugs out because when I went to go check them they were black & the exhaust gases are black too am I just running too lean? If I am how can I fix that?

I appreciate all the help guys I know I can always count on the members here to help me out! Just like my bad coil problem.

I was reading a post about idle problems and the BOV does have air blowing out while at idle and it's a stock not recirculated could that be the problem?

eh?

Yes.. Black smoke + black plugs = rich condition = air leak = your uncirculated recirc valve.

To be sure just do the 5 minute drive, stop open the hood and block the recirc valve opening. See if the idling stablizes.

Yeah it worked, I knew that air was blowing out of the BOV a while ago but I didn't pay attention to it because it was very light breeze and when I covered it up completely it idled much much better! I guess the only possible fix w/o recirculating the stock bov is to finally get my Blitz BOV.

I appreciate the help!

No, recirculate that stock valve. Buying a BOV will make your car run just as bad. It'll either die coming to a stop and/or bog when shifting hard.
IF you buy a BOV buy one that has a recirc kit.

I already have a Blitz BOV just never got to having the flange welded on. Is there anything I can do so I don't have to recirc an aftermarket BOV? I mean I would recirc the stock but the piping that use to recirc the bov would need to be custom welded because it originally mounted to the stock air box and I have an aftermarket intake.
