i finally got my speed sensor hooked up after finding out where it was. my speedometer works but its a lil off it read 70mph when i couldn have been going anything over 35mph.
would this problem have anything to do with me hokking it up wrong or somthing or is it just that i need to recalibrate my speedo?
o ya the tach and fuel gauges work fine

Where did you get it? New, used? What car did you get it out of if it was used? That will help to narrow it down.

I'm fairly sure S14 speed sensors won't work with the S13 cluster and vice versa....but I assume from your user name you already have an S14; so maybe it's the wrong sensor for the tranny?

ALL manual S13 VSSs are the same. The tach is what's different, someone just doesn't have a fucking clue and is giving out bad info. As usual.
An S13 VSS would not read correctly from the start, so you have the correct one in the car, it's just either a bad speedometer head or bad sensor.
