alrite so i'm having a problem since I installed my SR a few months back.
when i put the car in N or clutch in from about >3000 rpm and the revs just come down and the car will stall. the idle doesn't catch it.

is this because of the flywheel? or something else?

relevant mods:
jun flywheel, rps clutch, and bolt ons.
NO BLOW OFF VALVE.

i've been having the same problem

probably your atmospheric bov. get a electronic idle stabalizer

or properly hook it up.

recirculate the bov or get the HKS EIDS

Another solution is tighten down your bov. if u set it a lil harder it wont stay open as long reducing the chance of your car shuttin off. thas what i do. But if u wanna do it the correct way and solve it jus recirculate it.

will this work with the ka?

will this work with the ka?

dont see why it wouldnt, but with the EIDS, you run rich while the bov releases the air.
i believe its best to just recirculate

mine recently started doing this, but i dont see why its the bov... i mean, i havent changed it the whole time it was installed (since october '05). could it be a boost leak in another spot???

some SR's do it, some don't. i think it depends on the condition of your motor. maybe your bov spring is getting old or the nut on the bov itself started to loosen up. it could also be a combination of the things.
if you guys really wanna run the atmospheric bov and not use the EIDS, which makes you waste gas, you can relocate the MAFS near the throttle body. some say within 12 inches, basically the closer it is, the less chance of the engine stalling when the revs drop quickly

Check your IACV (idle air control valve). Check for vac leaks also. Run your BOV all the way closed and see if it still does it.

there is NO BOV on my car .

Are you running the stock compressor bypass valve (CBV)? You gotta have something so you don't damage your turbo.

Check for leaks.

no there is nothing but pipe.

Maybe your idle air control is fucked?

I geuss try cleaning that out.

Are you running the stock sidemount? If so it's under the left fender.

FMIC no BOV absolutely none.

sometimes if you have a small boost or vac leak somewhere, your car will stall on decel. im talking like REALLY small leaks..and if you have an SR, why dont you have a BOV? thats really bad for your turbo man. you are backspinning your turbo..

And if you do have a BOV, and you dont stall at all, you probably have a small vac leak somewhere that rises your engine idle and keeps the engine from stalling..(open to atmosphere bovs only)

When my car had a vac leak, my open air bov would not stall my car out like it SHOULD. Fixed the vac/boost leaks and now i stall, like its supposed to.

The only way is to run a boost pressure sensor on your EMS (electronic management) and tune your car not to stall, AFC decel settings, or recirc your bov.

FMIC no BOV absolutely none.
check your mafs or tps sensors. bad sensors make your car do weird things..
check for exhaust leaks, i had an exhaust leak from turbo to manifold and that made my car do really weird crappy things.

could it be that the idol passeges in your throtle body are pluged.

Check entire car for vacuum leak.

pressurize intake system. theres a thread on zilvia somewhere that shows you how to make a leak tester from home depot. you cant see most leaks. even the smallest pinhole leak will screw with your car.

oh and clean out your idle air control valve located on your throttle body. theres probably oil and gunk in there. while your are cleaning that (intake cleaner in a can) clean your throttle body.
