This is a pic of some 240 where the clutch pedal assembly is supposed to bolt up to. My prob is that I don't have that "guide" I guess u can call it where the pedal assembly fits into. Are s14's supposed to have it? B/c the clutch pedal assembly I have is made for a firewall like the one in the picture. Let me know. thanks

S14 firewalls do not have the spacers to push the pedal forward. Drill the three holes needed and bolt it right up.

meaning that all the stress would be put onto the studs? It just doesn't seem like it would be sturdy at all. So I guess I have another question. If s14 firewalls don't have spacers, then why are the clutch pedals made to work w/ a spcaer?

Maybe I have the wrong clutch pedal (s13). Are s14 clutch pedals also made to work w/ a spacer?

it's just sort of hard to understand why it's like that. Does anyone have a pic of the backside of the s14 clutch pedal assembly so I can verify that I have the right one?

It appears as if my concerns were justified. I don't have the right clutch pedal. The pedal I have has a spacer, whereas teh s14 is not supposed to have one like the one pictured in that thread.

holy shit this is crazy. I just found the clutch pedal bracket on the courtesy parts website and there's is like mine.

So now that that is out of the way, do I just drill the holes as big as teh studs themselves or do I drill the holes as big as the circular metal piece that goes around the studs? thanks

yes r240 is completely correct, drill the 3 holes in the wall, no spacer assembly is on the s14 that i swapped either. it bolted striaght to the wall, then there was the bolt up top. the bolt up top ACTUALLY takes most of the stress and stops the assembly from flexing the thin sheetmetal firewall when you press down. hope that helps dude and have fun with the swap :D

OH, haha. If I knew there was supposed to be a bolt up top then there wouldn't of been so much confusion. Now that I know that I can sleep good at night. haha
