What is the side effects of a bad coil? Or how can I test
it and tell?

Ignition coil?

If it's ignition coil, you'll have low amperage which will not allow all the electricity to go through the coil which will cause bad spark. You can test it with a multimeter.

If you have a multimeter,  set it to measure OHMs, put your negative point on one end and your positive to the other and obtain a reading. Your resistance should not be more than 70ohms or so.

Hmm.. Are you saying take off the spark plug wire from the coil to the distributor and then run it? Run the car etc?

No, I didn't say run the car. I said use your multimeter (if you have one). Yes, do take off your wire that you're testing.

Well, cuz Im not trying to test the wire from the coil to the distributor. I wanna test the coil itself.
