Well if anyone has kept up with my former threads, you guys would know I've been having technical difficulties for a while. Here's the thread for those who might be wondering about it.. http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?p=966949#post966949
Anyways, my car did run better after the dyno, and having the tuners mess with the SAFC2 for a bit, but now it seems like driving is way rougher, especially in the lower RPM's like from 1500-3300 ish.. but then after it gets up higher, boost will hit, and the car will pull. The tuners were looking around my car too, and found that on my SAFC2, it only reads about 60% at WOT, which is HORRIBLE. I've purchased another throttle body w/ a new TPS on it, so after that's swapped out, hopefully that might fix the problem. I think I have some boost leak too.
So yeah, here are my dyno results on 5.5 psi or so.. everything's running on the wastegate at the moment.

I'm really not satisfied at all just because I know it should be way better.. keep in mind I'm still running pretty rich, but not nearly as bad as before.
Here's a couple of pictures of the setup..

It's pretty messy, I know, but I'm more focused on getting it running straight first. After a certain intercooler pipe is swapped out, as well as the new throttle body, hopefully the problems'll be fixed.
Let me know what you guys think.. I'm still a beginner at this dyno stuff/reading dyno sheets, so please let me know about it. Thanks!

thats awesome dude, KA-T all the way. What turbo are you running?

You need to get that TPS fixed..that could have alot to do with the real choppy powerband, its probably running some odd timing if it only thinks its at partial load...
I was having issues with the TPS in my 96 ka-t, ended up replacing the tps and that still wasnt the problem, so I was digging around the harness and found that the TPS signal wire is also tied into the absolute pressure sensor, which on my car was dead, and was owning the tps signal...( I was getting 60% throttle as well )
So you may want to check that out as well before you go pulling off the throttle body and everything.

i love the heat shield for the m/c. how much would you charge for it? is it hard to install?

You suck. But seriously, that is a really crappy heat shield.

i had a similar problem..turned out to be piston rings and 3 broken pistons :[
i didnt read your threads but might wanna check spark plugs and compression or even better a leakdown.

I'm running a custom/rebuilt garrett t3/t04e 70 trim compressor + .63 A/R.
Yes, hopefully the new throttle body + tps will solve the problem, it's pretty damn bad driving it right now.
hahaha I know my heat shield's the shit! It cost me like $1478758437 dollars, and Signal Auto put it on for me!
(yeah it was just a piece of scrape metal that I found laying around.. I'm getting a turbo blanket when I can afford it.)
The spark plug tips were literally black, but they've cleaned up now after the tuning. My compression's about 165 all across the board by the way.

Try unplugging the absolute pressure sensor and then just turning the key to power and checking the voltage readout on your afc, and see if it reads like 4.0 + volts when you floor it.. If its still fucked up, plug it back in and put that new tps on, if it works, either buy a new sensor or just leave it disconnected...
Im just suggesting this because it sounds pretty similiar to what happened to my ka-t...Might save you some time..

He was being sarcastic I think.
Anyway, so are you planning on staying at 5 or do you have any plans in the future?

Well I'll run 5 psi for now, just until I can actually get my car running like it should.. the tuner's didn't want to turn up the boost because of the problem, so I don't blame them. After that though, I'll probably run 10 psi daily.

where's this 'absolute pressure sensor' that' you're talking about?
vinh, let's remember to plug up the egr, i'm sure you're leaking from there

Vinh - Clean that engine bay. I would feel like tarzan climbing in there to fix anything. Yank the motor and start from scratch, its MUCH easier to do all the EGR plugging, vaccuum hose revisions, change your TB, etc.
I mean god damn. You have a 96 with all the OBDII BS. You can yank so much of that JUNK out of there! I did a write up on this someplace...

I believe it is mounted on the front of the passenger side strut tower... Lemme grab a pic from the fsm...

With the abs pressure sensor unplugged, do you think it would still have an effect on throttle position readings?

im surprised the tape on the heat shield hasnt fallen off
mrmephistopheles

yeah, lose the tape on the 'heat shield' and drill holes for zipties or something (or just bend some 1/8" aluminum plate to fit). Route those plug wires away from the manifold and turbo unless you want to cook them.
Also get that PS reservoir sitting upright.
Looks like fun. Is it still automatic?

^^ I see a clutch master, so normally I'd assume the swap happened already. But, that dyno shows some gear changes, so... still automatic?
Rotate your spark plug boots 90* on the valvecover to get the slack out and the wires away from the mani/turbo.
Otherwise, 205hp @ 5psi is really good. And, if you're putting it through a slushbox, it's outstanding.

i searched but didn't search hard enough i suppose, i couldn't seem to find your write up on threads you started
vinh's car's a 98 swapped to manual

Nice numbers.
I didnt catch what kind of turbo he is running

I'd still suggest a heat sheild. Expesialy if you plan on relocating your harness.

I unplugged the sensor which was dead and sapping power from the tps and immediately got proper voltage and 100% throttle reading from the afc
