I know this is kinda old, but noone's discussed it yet.

Obviously this is just a artist rendition, but it's pretty cool IMO. Supposed to be 300hp+ and possible aimed at the M3 for the real performance version.
If they make one I see 2JZ swaps in it's near future.

should be 300+hp the regular is350 is already a 306hp na motor. also stock 2JZ barely have more hp (including turbo) than the is350. add a turbo to the is350 motor and who knows what insane numbers you'd get.

10 hours staring at a stupid monitor makes you crazy... im high ... don't mind me ~ :ughd:
I'd even settle for the IS250 version if I could get it in a manual.
I don't know if you guys have seen this but the new BMW 335i Coupe will be ready to compete with a 302HP Twin Turbo motor. I think this is the first twin turbo BMW ever! Let alone the new M3 which will have 400hp.
I still vote for the IS though. :)
"The BMW 335i coupe that will appear later this year may look like nothing more than the latest chapter in the 3-series coupe book, but there are some radical changes under the skin. The 335i (the C goes away on this coupe as it did on the 650i for the 2006 model year) will have a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with piezoelectric direct injection. The symmetrical turbos are relatively small and each feed three cylinders. Power output is up only 47 hp over the normally aspirated version of the same 3.0-liter six found in the 330i, but BMW claims that turbo lag is all but avoided and — more importantly — peak torque increases 34 percent and is available from 1500 to 5800 rpm. BMW estimates that the twin-turbo setup gives the 335i's six the power and torque characteristics of a 4.0-liter V-8 with 10 percent less fuel consumption and 145 fewer pounds. BMW expects the 335i to shave more than half a second from the 330i's 0-to-60 time, which should put it in the low-five-second range — scarcely more than the outgoing E46 M3. The 335i is expected to carry a base price of approximately $42,000 when it goes on sale this summer. The 2008 M3 is expected to have a 400-hp naturally aspirated V-8 and cost $10,000 more. "

New Coupe with the TT engine is dead sexy. What a great DD that would be.

the new 3series interior sucks ass
but i'll bet on BMW to be able to make a better sports sedan than Lexus until other proven
lexus numbs down the steering and ride, and doesn't even give you a manual option on the big engine

i dont know abbout the TT 325i, 302 is kinda weak for a twin turbo six.
the IS though is kinda nice, the styling of the rear bumper along with the muffler tips is shotty.

300 ish is pretty normal for a stock TT 6

302 is fine if ur goal is no turbo lag and decent mileage...and also not to compete with the m3
small stock turbos mean low potential for extra power...if they gave it more capable turbos it would tear up the m3

so what? the Z32 made 300hp with a 3.0L TT V-6 baaaack in the day. turbo lag? yeah, a little bit. stock numbers coming out of the factory have little value here. lets see how the thing responds to tuning/modification.

It probably won't fare well. If you look at the 06 WRX, it dynos in the 200s with the 2.5. The funny thing is that its maxed out from the factory. you'll only make more power with uppipe and turbo back and a tune, anything past that and you need a new turbo. if you try to add boost, you'll get nowhere. it requires a bigger turbo for more power whereas older style cars could get around 50-100hp with bolt ons before reaching the limits of the turbo. I think thats where future turbo cars are headed. It will certainly keep warranty costs down.

This is a sign for Nissan to do something major with the next Infiniti G Coupe....

It really depends on the car. With my car people have been getting up to 400hp out of the stock turbo with a good engine tune, cams and exhaust. http://www.vishnutuning.com/evo_Stage1_v390.htm But yeah, most modern cars are already pretty maxed out from the factory so there's not much you can do.
302HP for the BMW is pretty good from the factory. They wanted more reliability and the power delivery of a V8 without the weight and fuel consumption of one. But damn for $42K starting price that thing better be good.
