Today was our first event. Great turnout. Event will be held every Wednesday evening at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. The event starts at 6 til we can't see right now. We had about 100 people show up today. The event consists of drifting, drag racing, and a burnout contest. There isn't really a formal layout, you just kinda jump on the course when you want. Anyway, I'd appreciate if some more of the local guys would come out. If we get some more people, they will start turning the lights on for us and we will be able to stay until whenever. Anyway, tell your friends and bring as many people as you can.
Thanks,
Charles

Not what you want when having an "organized" event. I hope you guys have the proper insurance in place in case of an incident also.

Everyone signs a waiver when they come in. So the only person held liable, if something happens, if yourself, just like any other event.
What I ment by "not formal" is that there isn't a set time for runs. If someone isn't on the course, and you want to be, then pull up.

Signing a waiver does not exclude an organization from needing the proper insurance. Im just letting you know these things because you don't want to find out the hardway. Every precaution needs to be taken to prevent incidents as well as having the correct legal backing so that we can all continue to have a good time and venues continue to allow us to use their facilities.
If you guys need assistance with making sure your events are compliant you can contact
[email protected] or check the contacts at www.usdrift.com. They have ample experience with these things and have held numerous east coast events.

Well I'm not organizing the event, I'm just trying to spread the word. I'm sure the guys have all the proper forms in order.

OMG! So I can just ride down to myrtle beach on ANY given (non rainy) wednesday, and drift till my heart is content?(light permitting)
Is there some web site I can check out to make sure people will be there? Its like a 2.5 hour drive for me, but I will be there religiously if it is like you say.
Web site or more contact info PLEASE!!
What kind of course markers are there? I dont need to smash any more quarters against foam blocks... s13 body panels are cheap, but skyline panels...well I jus cant get anymore.(not like it would stop me, I'm just curious)

It's really too bad that it's in the middle of the week. I'm usually back in wilmington everyother weekend. It's just too far to drive three hours there and back after a full work day. Maybe I'll take a half day and come down if it continues to happen and they get enough regulars to get the lights turned on.

Well the event today went well. It was raining like a BITCH!!! But, we still ripped some tires up, lol. Today was my first day ever "drifting" and it was fun as hell. Knowing that you can do whatever you want with your car, and not get in trouble is great, lol. There was actually a cop out there checking out the action. My open diff is killing me, so I think I'll take my spare and weld it this week. Here is the deal with the event, the more people the better. We will be there every Wednesday, rain or shine!!!! If we get enough people, we will get the lights turned on and will be able to spend some more time out there. Right now, the even goes from 5 until we can't see. So come out and show your support guys. You can get some info at www.ncdrifters.com and www.myrtlebeachspeedway.com
