So I don't remember if I was on here or on the web, but I came across a site that had 100% waterproof HID's. On their homepage there is a video of the bulb on, and a guy dips the whole setup in a fish tank. Anyone know what site this is? I've searched the web and the board, no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Charles.

the website has been down for some time now it was www.hidexpress.com
i have these HIDs, they are Xetronic and yes fully water-proof.
the video was of the entire setup, ballast, bulbs in a fish tank with fish in it
pretty cool

I just saw this like 3-4 days ago. Do you know of any other company? Thanks, Charles.

Are you trying to find something for your pop-ups? Excuse me for assuming, but if you are, a Hella 90mm projector is waterproof.

^I'm assuming you mean they're pricey from Mike at ClearCorners.com? You're right, Mike does great work, but he's proud of it too. ;) I bought Hella 90mm projectors on eBay for $90 shipped and put together my own kit. I'm not going with the dual high/low beam setup he has, just low beam, but it should be very nice, and very cheap when I'm done.

Hella 90mm - $100
Bulbs - $70
Ballasts/Ignitors - $150
DIY Harness - $5
Random other junk - $50

Under $500 for a soid HID setup? Yes please.

There are different kinds of Hella 90mm housings though.

There's the halogen low beam, halogen high beam, and then the HID low beam, HID high beam, and bixenon HID housings.

The HID housings cost around $500 for a pair IIRC, but they come with the bulbs or ballasts, or both, I don't remember.

I was going to go with the Hella E-code H4 conversion housing, with the Xetronic bixenon H4 kit.

The Xetronic kit uses a little electromagnetic mechanism that slides the bulb in/out to achieve the low/high beam patterns, so you can still have high beams.

Okay, the Hella 90mm "True HID" projectors are actually about $550 EACH. So $1100 to get your lights powered up, then fitting them into your car yourself. You can get those in high or low beam.

Then there's the Bi-Xenons which are obviously larger to fit the flapper motor/solenoid. I think those are about $600 each.

Then there are the Hellas that take H9 bulbs, which are the cheapest and most people say unsuitable for HID. They come in halogen low and high beam.

What I have are the Hellas that take H7 bulbs. Those are ECE (E-code) and though they are designed to be halogen, even the experts over at hidplanet agree that they're perfectly fine for HID. All you need then is an HID bulb for H7, or an adapter plate (about $15 for the pair) that lets you plug a D2S bulb into an H7 projector. Then you're golden. You can get these in high or low beam as well and I believe they're about twice as much as the H9s. I got mine on eBay so they were much cheaper.

Good deal good deal.

I wonder if they have the 90mm housings for the H4 kits? Hmm...

I retrofitted some S14a projectors into my S13. I know I know, they aren't really designed for HID, however, when I had my S14, I had HID's and they looked good. I just want a waterproof hid kit, bulbs, ballasts, and ignitors. Hella is not an option at this point.

no problems of it fitting, its just a bitch since; one side the battery is in the way and the other side the stock airbox is in the way.
makes it super easy if you just take off your headlights
