ok, finally sold the whale (93 camry wagon)
searching frantically for an S14 that i can afford
found one... but it has a rather large dent int the pass rear q panel, no crease, just a big depression

-pull the dent?
-replace the panel?

i guess my real question is whether or not the panel connects to the roof or not?

thanks all

it does connect but it is welded. if its small and easily repairable just get a shop to do some apintless dent removal

yup, pretty big job to replace rr qtr panel....all welded. a good body shop can repair so u'd never know. if the car is cheap enough, don't let that stop ya!

I have a dent in my rear q panel as well.  I have had several estimates done on it by body shops and they averaged about $1000 for the job.  Just thought you might find that info useful...

How big is the dent? Maybe you could pull it yourself?

well, i have a pic that i could email, but don't have a host for it... also haven't purchased the car... it's about the size of 2 open hands.... or roughly one rather large ass (the current owner says he thinks someone was "pushed into it")

i would love to do the work myself; i, however do not really know how, nor do i want to have to repaint the vehicle

can you access that area from inside the car, or from inside the wheelwell?

below the major horizontal bend (below rear side window)
about 3 inches behind the door to about 2-3 inches from the wheel well

thanks

should be able to access it by removing the inside plastic trim panel.
