Okay, I'm bout to order another sr20det. Only thing is I have a 95 240sx and I was wondering is it worth paying the larger sum of money for the s14 sr20det w/ the vvt and I believe the majority of them come w/ a bb center turbo....OR buy a s13 blacktop and put the bb Garret t28 I have already on that badboy, and save a grand or more.
I know one has low port injection the other high, one has vvt and the other does not.
So, I guess my question is: Is vvt worth the money or not, I've done the research myself and feel it's some what of a waste of money. Where I could buy some cams or pulleys or something else.....
I don't know just looking for everyones two to ten cents

I think the vvt is a waste of money and is something that you probably won't want in the long run anyway. Go with the S13.

The VVT doesn't do much. The real advantage of the S14 motors is that they come with BB T28 but since you already have a T28, there wouldnt be much point.

Get the s13 motor...it has a better flowing head then the s14 motor...better motor to tune on in the long run =)

Sorry but I would have to disagree with all of you. As you might know I have both engines and after last week they are pretty much the same mod wise. I just bought a T28 for her car because I had change a gasket on her T25 before and I was having a problem replacing the Lube tube and well I guess I miss aligned it so oil flow was at a minimum . to cut it short She was driving fast and the turbine over heated and the compressor wheel froze up. So I put the extra T28 that I had from my car on hers. Well like I said she has the same mods as me and The black top out performs hers in every aspect. I have a friend that has the same set up as she and he has a 5 speed and still no comparison. Go black top you will save money in the end. It is newer the maintenance is low and it matches your car better.
