I am new here and I am having troubles finding parts for my Nissan 240sx what I need it the piece that holds the fuel door shut. My boy borrowed my car when it was cold and when he got gas he broke the plastic piece that holds it shut everything else is good but can't seem to find the part I need. I can buy new but is there a need for that?

If the part is still available your best bet would be to buy new. If not, try visiting the local salvage yard.
If you still can't find it, upgrade the gas cap to a locking unit.

none of the junkyards in 5 states has any nissan 240 sx's in their lot at all what really sucks is that this piece is plastic and is the screw part where the nut fits over and holds it tight and in place thought about modifying the piece but don't want to lower the price of the car but I think it would work

all the junkyards in 7 states do not have cars of this kind at all in their junkyards. I have thought about modifying the piece since it is only the plastic threads and plastic nut that is broken off but not sure if that would hurt the price of the car if I decide to sell later on

Try checking with a local Nissan dealer, or it's time to visit a body shop if you want the best quality.

I doubt something like that would hurt the resale price of the car much; as long as it works and you can still get it open to put gas in it.
No 240's at all in the junkyards in 7 states? That's weird. There's a junkyard with 8 or more of them less than 30 minutes from me.

I do'nt know if this helps you at all, I can look this weekend coming up for one, I know there are some s13's at my local junkyard, I've about gutted them. I can post then if I get one, My man should'nt charge much if anything at all.
In the mean time, I would do like g6civcx said and get a locking cap.

Nissan Auto Wreckers. Nissan Salvage yard that ships nation wide. Do a search on google for them. Or call 411 and get the number. They are in Rancho Cordova CA.
