I made the biggest purchase of my life on Friday. I've been with my girl for the past 3 and half years and decided to buy the ring. I'm not going to ask until Christmas but at least I have the ring. I'm planning on going to visit her parents for Christmas and I’m going to ask her on Christmas Eve. We've already talked about marriage and everything. I know she's the one. And an added plus is the only two cars that she's owned have been Nissan's. I love her. My family doesn't know yet, but i decided to let my other family know. Maybe we'll name our first child Silvia. LOL. http://zales.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pZALE1-2224124t240.jpg

NIIIIIIICE. Is she good looking with no deformities? You must keep her in a cage so she can not run away. i do with my wife in Khazikstan! [/Borat]
But seriously... good job! I want my wife to be happy and accept my proposal with a $.25 plastic gumball machine ring. That would rule. If she accepts and is happy about being with me, then i will have no problem getting her some bling. But ye... that's like a fantasy of mine, i think it would be so rad. Here. marry me. I spent $.75 to get the right ring!

Congrats man...I plan on asking my girl pretty soon, I just need to get a ring... it sucks though, I'm in college and we're both broke as hell, so I can't afford anything really nice...even if I did get her a really nice ring, she'd probably beat me for spending that kind of money. Oh well, she said she'd marry me even if i didn't buy her a ring, and we're already kinda planning our wedding next spring, so hopefully things go smoothly.
On that note does anyone want to buy a Mercedes supercharger so i can afford a ring?

Screw the rings and expensive weddings. My wife and I have been married for 12 years now ( been together over 13 ), we bought our wedding bands at a pawn shop for less than 100 bucks, got married at the courthouse, and went to mcdonalds afterwards. Many told us that we were making a mistake because of our age ( 17-18 ), our races ( she's a white girl from Georgia, and I'm from Puerto Rico ) and any number of other things that ranged from cruel and racist to paranoid and nuerotic.... we are still together when most of them are no longer in the relationship they had at the time, we have 2 boys and all is great. Suffice it to say that the key ingredient is your compatibility and feelings for each other, not the parents blessing, the ring, the wedding or the honeymooon. If it's good it's good.

congrats! That is realllly similar to my ring set...and we thought about Silvia for our daughter...then laughed it off and decided to go with Emma. haha. Congrats, and hopefully, you are one that can keep a secret/present to yourselfuntil the time is right. I sooo SUCK at that. I buy gifts and give them to people too early.

good luck...I understand how you feel about being nervous, just take a deep breath and propose.
I proposed to my wife at disney on main street. When I dropped to a knee my heart was in my throat. Some lady saw me get on my knee and yelled "OMG Look!". She started crying and we were surrounded by hundreds of people clapping and cheering....it was very cool.
