Ive searched a little and couldn't find the answer for my problem is a little help please. My stock clutch still has a lot of life yet but its only when I down shit from say 5th to 3 or 5th to fourth or just downshifting fast period, there is so much tention on the shifter and it just doesnt want to go in, and my foot is welded to clutch pedal for when I need to downshift. So I dont know if something has messed up in either the shifter or what? I dont know maybe I can be the clutch becasue sometimes with 2nd and 3rd there is a small clunk of a noise that I hear every time I drop in those gears.

check your slave cylinder and clutch line to the slave cylinder.... then bleed your clutch line. Also check your freeplay of the clutch pedal and adjust it if necessary

If I do find free play on the pedal how exactly do adjust it?

Do you revv-match when you downshift?
Do you even know what revv-matching is?
If you are just trying to kick the clutch in and jam the tranny one or two gears down "fast," please sell your car and buy an automatic honda, so someone that knows how to drive standard can enjoy an s13 and not fuck it up by driving like a 14 year old.
The car is 10+ years old, the tranny's synchros are worn, so you have to revv-match when you decide to downshift from 5th to 3rd when you want to fly by that Honda. It's clunking/grinding because you're stupid. Use google.

if you aren't at least rev matching, then you aren't downshifting normally dude.
just letting the clutch slip to make a downshift smooth will burn out your clutch reaaaaaally quickly. brand new oem clutch will last about a year or two tops, if you treat it like that.
breakindrifts... revmatching is different from doubleclutching. revmatching still relies on tranny sycnhros.
anyway, go do all the FSM stuffs like the guys before recommended. it sounds like your clutch isn't fully disengaging. alternatively, your synchro could be shot. so if you don't know how to double clutch, it's time to learn. sink or swim. good luck to ya.

put your car on a flat street, turn the engine of, shift to first gear and still stand on the clutch and let someone push your car over the street, so you should be able to feel if the clutch disconnect proprely (yes its the russian way), if the clutch is working i would say its the syncro.
