Project Rally Car

My friend just sold me and my friends his 1993 Impreza, Me and 4 other ppl when in on it, so we only ended up paying 100$s each for it (500$s for the car all together). &nbsp;We are planning to make it a lil' rally car, its AWD and is auto for now &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/notify.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':notify:'> . &nbsp;We found a RS engine for 1000 and a 2.2 for 500, we are going to drop that in with a manual tranny, or we might just get the WRX engine, the STI one is 5k we dont know yet. &nbsp;Any sugestions?

Sounds like good clean fun. Too bad that car is so um... not as pretty as its newer counter parts. If I were you I would have each gotten an early 80's Subaru GL Turbo waggon for about $300 a piece and had a real rally race. But either way you got a good deal

If there your friends they'll let u drive the impreza and let u work on it with them and u don't have to spend a dime.

Sounds like fun. &nbsp;I looked into this before I bought my S14. &nbsp;The way I see it is that the STi version has a twin turbo and a better flowing head over the WRX. &nbsp;The WRX is only like 3k or so. &nbsp;There are also IHI turbo upgrades and you can upgrade the intercooler to a fmic. &nbsp;The engines are pretty bullet proof and great performers. &nbsp;Either way, you can't go wrong. &nbsp;If you can get an STi engine from australia for cheaper ( i think its possible) that's what i would do. &nbsp;The swap is very straight forward too, except that there is a turbo cross member that needs to be modified/instlaled or something like that. &nbsp;If you did this, you would have a killer rally car. &nbsp;If you had a coupe, you could also buy the 22B wide body kit and ground effects if you wanted to go all out.
