okay, so i'm installing my diff here in a few days. i was looking at the output shaft seals, and there are two different components i see. one is a small roundish rubber looking deal, and the other is a metal piece with a flared lip. the metal one almost looks like some sort of bearing. i'm curious. are both of these wear parts? should i just get the new rubber seals, and only replace the metal ones if mine are damaged? thanks.
you should always replace your side seals and front pinon seal...

The spacer before the adjust shims?
What are you doing exactly? If you are changing LSD's I would recommend re-shimming it... If you are not, then just change the seals or you could throw off the adjustments made for your current LSD...

i'm changing the differential. on the fsm diagram, there is only one "side shaft seal" listed, so i don't know why o'reilly has two different parts labeled the same thing.
Let me know the parts you are looking for... I give zilvia members below wholesale pricing on OEM Parts...
Here is a blow up of all the parts in your differential... If you are changing only your differential (and not touching your pinion) then you should need the 2 side seals, 2 side spacers, and the 2 adjust shims,
