IACV valve removal?

On a redtop engine, is it necessary to remove the Intake manifold in order to get the IACV valve off?

its alot easier if you remove the manifold or even just the bottom portion of it.

you will want to take off the upper intake manifold to remove it.

Just to confirm... you have to take it off to clean it thoroughly right?:-/
