hey guys since i felt my car had a timing issue. i decided to check my timing today because it didnt feel that repsonsive to throttle. when i checked the timing today doin the whole proper procedure noticed my timing was way way advanced to the point that i cud not see the marks. but yet my engine was not pinging. so i decided to go ahead and put it to 15 degrees btdc this is when conditions went down hill the car ran like trash it ran like it was retarded 15 degrees not 15 degrees advanced. so i put it back to where it was before roughly since i cudnt put it back exactly because of no marks being present and the car ran much better. u think my cam timing is off?
plz guys sum input is needed. i on a fmic and stock boost i want to turn up boost but not until i deal with this prob.

gotta set the base timing on the cam sprockets, on mine, i have tomei adjustable sprockets on the exhaust side only. i advanced the exhaust cam timing on the sprocket so when i check timing, it shows like 15btdc when its really 20btdc..on the crank pully. its either that or,

when i use the loop on the ignition harness (in the back near the firewall) for a signal when using timing light, it shows like 15 advanced then what it really is..u gotta use the cylinder #1 coilpack wires for signal instead of the loop,..thats the most accurate way...its a pain in the ass to get a good signal but for me, thats the on ly way to get an accurate reading.
