I just put on the megan streets yesterday and I need to know what is biggest rim size I can use I feel like throwing on 17, or 18's later on once I have 5lug, Also the top collar that holds the spring how come you cannot adjust it? the manual doesnt give a good reason why you cant adjust it. When adjusting ride height its a good idea to use measureing tape or plain old sockets, someone told me about that one so just in case I get flammed I did say that out of my ass:bowrofl: :bowrofl: . Or if anyone share any heads up or future advice for working on coils. It will be really appriciated:cool:

I got the same coilover set as you, but mine is called Apex N1. I'm not sure, but I think you can go up to 18s. Don't take my word for it. About the adjustment question, I'm not sure. How is your coilover? Do you like it? Just wanted to see what the feedback is on these coilovers.

the fit and finsh is beyond great, the only F***ed up part was that megan said they preadjusted the coils at the factory so when you put them in you have a super soft ride. HAAHAA yeahright when I did a test drive the car felt so stiff that even the most smallest bump or crack on the asphalt will send you in the air. But I fixed the damping i think right now since there 32 way I left it right now @ 20 for fron and back, besides megan says that 17 and up is for street and it still feels a little stiff but what do I know I bearly have a day with these. I guess I got to change my old driving habbits since the ride is a lot more stiffer.

Mine are at 16s front and rear. It feels a lot stiffer and uncomfortable with the kazama tension rods and nismo tension rod bracket. I guess you sacrifice smoothness for performance. I think the 32 way adjustable part is just a gimmit. I still like it though.

Lucky you don't have JICs. Full soft on JICS are stiffer than most coilovers on full stiff.

You can put just about any diameter wheel you want, its the width you need to be worried about. The wider the wheels, the lower the offset you need to clear the coilovers.

Ive heard that before 2 but dude what do you do when you need them to get rebuilt, JIC sucks at answering there own phone. Ive never thought the cars body will move the way it does when those are installed its pretty trippy. Does anyone have any precautions for when it rains??? The freeways in socal are more F***Ed up than the streets in mexico and these freeways are full of idiots. It also be a good thing to get better brakes too?

They shouldn't need to be rebuilt anytime soon. I wouldn't worry about that. About rain, just soften up the dampers a bit and drive chill. Better brakes are always a good idea. Start with some good pads, SS lines, and fresh fluid.

About the camber plates right now there a 0 degrees since I have stock arms and all that I cant move it down 1or 2 degrees.

Rims...you cant run 17x10 +12 upfront. How I know...im running those and i had to use a 8mm spacer to clear the collars. Rears will pretty much take anything you can throw at it. If anything run something around 9-9.5 wide rim bout +5 to 15 offset depending on which width you pick. Also if you lowered the car already, id suggest you get an alignment ASAP. Your toe is so bad right now that youd go thru your tires quick. Would you rather spend money on alignment or tires?

Your Apex N1 EXV's are not the same as the Megans, that is a myth spread by Underground motorsports to sell Megans. There is a build and valving difference, do a search Slizzoo did a comparsion of the two lines. Plus Apex will rebuild your shocks here in the states if need be. Megan does not.

It's not a myth...
Fact #1- They are built by the same company....
Fact #2- Take a look at the company's website and you will see they only make a few models of coilovers for the 240SX. The Megan's are their highest quality model they make, and are the same series that Apexi purchases from the same manufacturer..
There is a good chance that the valving and spring rates are different, but not a quality difference....

I've got a question regarding the MR Street coils myself.
What's the lowest height setting you can get for the rear on an S14? I have a one finger gap and i have 17" rims on 215/40 tires. It just seems like there is still a lot of thread left cuz there's a huge gap between the top and bottom collars and i saw pics of other S14s with their cars lower than mine. I believe I'm maxed out cuz i had someone check it out for me.
I don't want to mess with the top 2 collars. Can anybody confirm if i can go any lower?

You can go up to 4" drop with those....aka..wheel wouldn't even turn because it would be making contact with wheel well..
If you have one finger gap, then I'd say that's more than ideal and I'd keep it at that setting...

I had a feeling i could go lower but are you saying that you can drop it 4" w/o loosening the top 2 collars as the manual recommends (ie. threading cylinder into the bottom sleeve)? Not that i'd drop it that much but its just something i'd like to know whether mine is normal or not.
The thing is my cylinders won't seem to turn anymore. I drenched them in Liquid Wrench too. Also got a friend to help me and they still won't want to move.
