Use some alchohol wipes on the blades to remove the grit from them to help a little. I used some of the hand cleansing lemon scented ones from KFC lol and they seemed to remove a lot of the crap and oils that were stuck on the blades.
Well, if you decide to change wipers. The Anco ones are really good. I have had mines for over a year now, and they still work. And that with all the pouring rainy days, hurricanes, humidty, and scorching sun of S. FL, where as the Bosch and other brands only last a few months.

Don't be a girl when you clean them either, wipe them with all your might.

mine squeek as well... but I just quit caring...
Also, if you could get some AquaPel (like Rainax, but WAYYYY BETTER) and apply that on the windshield, you won't really need your wiper anymore. One application lasted me over 6 months wootwoot!

as far as getting windshields.
1. Pilkington automotive replacement glass - usually cheaper, but poorer quality
2. PPG Automotive replacement glass - more expensive, but better quality
and the $190 to put on is a bit high.
I got my quote for PPG ARG Glass sfor 178 ish... Pilkington should be around 150-160 ish...
EDIT: I forgot to mention. If your molding (rubber thingy) needs to be replaced, it will costs you more.

haha /\ i waxed my windshield one time and truned windshiel wipers on by accident on the freeway while it was raining cuz i forgot i waxed the windshield, it was the equivilant of having a bucket of grease on my windhsield. Aso DO NOT use rain-x it garbage, youll regret it
It must be nice to live in a plae where you can actually suggest not to worry about wipers. Florida = Thunderstorms

I cleaned my windsheild with water and a razor blade to scrape off the oxidation or anything thats dried on there. Never squeeked after that. I use Rain X, never had any problems with that product. Anco Wipers and Rain X FTW.

hey....
both Pilkington and PPG are BRANDs of the windshield glass, NOT SHops. Most shops will carry these brands.
and regarding to AquaPel --- I SWEAR by it, since I have visited the plant where it was made and tested (and I use it myself). Much better product than Rainf*ass (sorry I sounded like a hater)
