View Full Version : R33 headlight swap in S14 b/mc

After reading some recent posts about custom fabricating projector headlights for the S14, or even swapping in R32 headlights, it got me thinking. It is obvious that despite subtle differences, the R33 skyline headlights look to be very similar in size and shape to the S14 headlights. I love the way the S14 front end looks but I hate the diffused plastic headlight housing. On the otherhand, I love the black housing, glass covered R33 headlights. I think it would preserve the natural look of the S14 because of the similar shape of the headlights and because the headlights match the shape of the taillights well (if anyone follows what I mean by that). This seems to be a possible alternative to a S14a conversion which is what I originally planned on doing (S15 conversion is ehh )
I tried looking for more info at every odd end I could find, but I haven't found a thing about this. It looks like it could be done with a little custom work. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
I'll now jump in my flame retardent suit and hope that no one misinterprets my idea and thinks i'm searching for an easy rice recipe
I'd say the better upgrade would be getting glass headlight housings from somewhere in europe that is LHD and swaping those in. Then take the money you saved from doing the r33 conversion and put in a true HID light system.

Good point, honestly, I've thought about that long and hard. The problem is that they are hard to get and nearly as or just as expensive as the R33 headlights. The competitive advantage to me about the R33 headlights is that they are one-peice, they have a black housing, and they are slightly more aggressive in shape.......... hmmm

I think it's a waste of money......... but i know a guy who did it by getting a pair of r33 fenders and cutting the 240 fenders and r33 fenders at the top of the wheeel well arch and welded them together, supposedly it worked out great. I doubt it, but he said it looks good. i'd just bite the bullet and buy a pair of headlights and do what it takes to get them to fit if you want them that bad.

just go kouki dude... hell, the S15 kits for the S14 would look ten times better than any skyline face. then again i'd drop that cash on a bulletproof powerplant or tons of suspension before even thinking of wasting it on looks.
but hey, its your dime. toss it where your heart shines.
