Hey yall, I am in the process of putting an sr20det in an s13 shell...Well I didn't do much research on the intercooler and i ended up buying the ssautochrome fmic kit with a huge core and huge piping...I have come to realize that with using the stock turbo (as I plan to do), this huge core and piping will create a lot of lag...I want to stick with the core and do some custom piping...what size piping should I use If I plan to stay under 350hp(eventually) at the crank?...also would it be worth the work to locate the intercooler under the Rad. support? Thanks alot!!

the huge core is whats going to generate most of your lag.

You may want to reconsider the SSAC unit. I know you already have it, but the quality isn't exactly great. Just giving you a warning in case you run into trouble with it later on.

It works well, HOWEVER, it does heat soak the intake charge, or so i'm told.
The shorter piping will definetly improve your throttle response.
I never experienced anything bad about it(and i've been running it for a year).
