So I got the bolts somewhat loose where the exhaust mani. meets the turbo. But I run into this problem. Theres a metal bracket there and wont let the bolts go any looser. Am I supposed to take that off or is there something speacial I have to do? And if I am supposed to take it off how the do I do it?
Taking it off due to had the gasket blow out a couple days ago.

You have to take off the entire turbo assembly from manifold to turbo outlet. This is outlined in the S14 SR20DET FSM.
Doing it any other way will be almost impossible.

wait, couldnt you just take the upper intake manifold off completley, and then take the manifold bolts off, then leave the turbo assembly on to get the head off?

Intake manifold? :)
But no, the 2 bolts in the back where the manifold meets the turbo are not accessible.

by intake manifold im saying, cant you take the intake manifold off, giveing you enough room to get the head out without removing the exhaust manifold, of course you would have to remove the exhaust manifold bolts but why would you have to deal with the turbo. im asking because I plan on performing a head swap/upgrade soon.

Just got done taking everything off awhile ago pretty easy. The reason you cant take just the exhaust mani. off is due to these little metal brakets that hold the turbo meeting the exhaust mani on. Plus you would have a hellova time trying to get them bolts off with it on the exhaust mani still. Plus theres a couple things you really dont have to due that where in the FSM. Like disconnect the lower sterring column. And removing a couple parts here and there. Thanks for the help :bigok:
