I have a really extended post about this electrical problem of mine from before but after speaking with R240 I found it was a dimmer switch or wiring problem and heres what I've got--
I'm checking my dimmer switch because all the cabin lights regulated by the dimmer switch and the red/blue + red/yellow lighting wires do not work. I figured that the red/yellow wire which alternates voltage was crossed somewhere in my harness with a 12v constant wire, so --
Heres the test and heres the results:
I cut both dimmer switch wires (r/y and r/b)
I cut the corresponding hazard signal button illumination wires (r/y and r/b)
I ran a wire directly from the dimmer switch r/y to the hazard button r/y
I ran a wire directly from the dimmer switch r/b to the hazard button r/b
re-grounded the dimmer switch in case that was the issue.
plugged the dimmer switch back in, plugged in the hazard button, turned on car turned on lights - no go on the hazard. Doesnt light up when pressed or unpressed.
So I think NOW that my actual dimmer switch is broken...
If I'm wrong please let me know.
R240 I'd also appreciate your response :)
And if this is the case, if anyone has an extra dimmer switch available for next day shipping I'll pay for it and the shipping charge which shouldn't be too much as it can fit in an envelope.
