Ok so i get 550 inj, z32 maf, and safc. Start the car with a 2 in and 6 out, its runs great...then i go and get it tuned and get back home, start the car and it rruns like shit! (i did get dissapointing results which i believe reflect a problem) i notice the bov is blowing air at idle, so i fix this. Im assuming this is what causing my crappy idle and performance. Well i fixed it today and the car still idles and runs like crap. I dont know if the tune is just that shitty or what but something is wrong. Also i dont know if this attributes to anything, But i noticed for the first time, oil came out of that little nipple on the bottom of the throttle body ( i believe its for the stock sidemount). And my vaccuum is lower than usual but all hoses are connected. So please people enlighten me!

So on your way back from tuning the car was running fine? Are your SAFC settings intact?
You have oil in your intake? Any smoke?

i trailered the car back because i trailered it there, but when i took it there it was running a lot better. Im not sure if the tune is bad or what but the vaccuum is like 15 instead of 20..im gona make a vaccuum test tomorrow. (anyone got a how-to?)

Ok heres the numbers, 2in and 6 out for the maf.

Hi: 1000(-12) 2000(-13) 3000(-17) 4000(-24) 5000(-28) 6000(-30) 7000(-28) 8000(-30)

Low: 1000(-16) 2000(-20) 3000(-17) 4000(-17) 5000(-18) 6000(-18) 7000(-19) 8000(-17)

Low 10% and high 50%

Please tell me what your numbers are and what yall think about this?!?! Thanks a lot.

safc and everything is working fine, and no smoke or nething, the oil has only come out once so i duno bout that..

it runs like crap cuz of your name. HA!!
all coil packs working??? u sure the turbo is ok. thas about the only place oil can come from. u sure all vacuum lines are all secure??
is there black smoke comming from the exhaust?? maybe u have a leak in a coupler or IC??

How would i test the coil packs? and i checked all the piping already and all the lines...the turbo should be good, i bought it from a friend about a month ago and when i put it in it had hardly any shaft play at all and i have only ran like 12psi on it max...no smoking at all.. and yea i know the name sucks lol i hate it now too

look in the nissan fsm for the jdm s14. it wll tell u there. u need a volt meter or ohm meter.
u can download that from this site.

1ohm on each coil pack. use a multi meter, download the FSM though like stated because if you are capable of doing your own troubleshooting and you have the FSM it will save you tons of pain and money swapping out parts and guessing.

As far as your tuning, does the - mean that you are taking out that much fuel, and if so, why would you be taking out fuel all throughout the power band? doesnt make any sense to me except for like around 1000 and 2000. Did you get a sniffer at the dyno(wideband o2)? if so what does your AFR look like? Maybe i am completely wrong, but i would be adding fuel at 3000 or so.

Would guess a vacume leak. Check the gaskets of the intake manifold. Check all hoses/tubing from turbo inlet to intake manifold.
Or you could have a bigger problem. Do a compression and cylinder leak-down test..

well i did a vaccuum test and it came out all good, as for the coil packs i will try to test them monday when im off work, but tomorrow im replacing all the spark plugs. As for fuel the "-" mean ur cutting that much out of the injector and yes it was with a wideband. the air/fuel was at like 12-13 at full throttle?? I might invest in one of those thin banned sensors for a/f just to see if its that bad and to keep an eye on it. Thanks for yall help and ill let you guys know when i find something out.

ok so heres what i have done:

boost leak test - good
compression test - 140 all across
new spark plugs - good
tested coil packs - good
checked all vaccuum lines - good
no smoking at all

car still runs like crap and is extremely slow...sounds like a bad misfire or like its running on 3 cylinders..

Now i am completely stumped, anymore ideas people before i take it to a shop and get ripped off??

I had a similar issue. A vacumm leak will cause of your problems, I know mine was caused by the BOV so as long as your sure the BOV is fine and doesnt open till its supossed to then IDK.

Also i know some AFCs are strange and will loose their memory over night or if is wasnt saved correctly. Make sure the AFC is tuned still to then tuners settings.

yah my safc played games on me the first time, and had to redo it, also did you pull each injector plug off and see if the car got worse at idle, pull one at a time, if it doesnt get worse then your injectors not firing, I did that and diagnosed a bad injector, got a new one and it fixed the problem, but it could also diagnose that you have an electrical problem to that injector. I have the symptoms of vacuum problem but have fixed it and still have probs, so im still curious to what your problem is, I might have the same one, Im still confident its the tune but everytime i bring it up, its always the same old, oh he is SR master he knows everything and i have to believe it but my problem started right after the tune. IDK

yea mine reset itself the first time but i put all the numbers back in and check it like everyday lol, and yea i thought a vaccuum leak definately but i did a test and didnt find any, also the bov is good...dayum!!!! i just wish i could figure it out so i can just fricken fix it lol

Do you have a boost gauge? I have no idea if this would tell you anything but how is the turbo on spolling and is its boost where it is supposed to be set at?

Funny story when i had my stock sidemount intercooler when the motor was given gass the coold pipe shivered off cause it was connected to the radiator.

So anyone else stumped and think a fuel issue may be the only thing left?

well i found out first off all my turbo was about to fall off for the 3rd time. I fixed that though and the car runs better but its still kind of lopey/rough, so i duno...Could a fuel problem be causing this? thanks for everyones help btw:bigok: Does anyone think its possible the timing got thrown off, or maybe i should advance it with the bigger injectors?

motegineon

ok, well i checked the timing today...what could this be, no matter how far i advance or retard the timing, none of the marks will even come close to the needle thing....Is it possible that it was thrown off this bad? How can i fix this? would a boost leak cause timing to be thrown off?

The S14 eurospec blactop SR needs a Nissan Consult tool to lock the timing during adjustments. The ecu uses timing to control idle speed.
We have replaced some cas-sensors on CA18DET`s.
I don`t know your type of cas, but it may be the problem..

you sure you are following all the right precedures before you check the timing? i personally havent done it, but i hear its a pain in the ass to get it right.

its not hard to fix at all. u jus gotta remove the valve cover. pull teh CAS. line up the marks and ge teh #1 piston on TDC. look it up on teh FSM on zilvia for the S14.

if u are talking about the chain and shit....well....idk about that.
