so i found a site telling me to cut the yellow wire with the green stripe, 7th wire from the right on my ECU to kill my speed limiter. i hooked it up to a toggle switch in my middle console and now no matter what position the switch is in the rpm limiter kicks in in 3rd gear at 5k in fourth at 4.5k and in fifth a little over 4k. it reaches higher speeds in each gear which maks me think it isn't the speed wire i cut, but can 4 or 5 feet of extra cable mess the signals up? the position of the toggle switch has no effect on the car that i can notice. any ideas. please help!

Okay, I know I'm more than likely going to get flamed for this, but here's my 2 cents.
The speed limiter sux, but it's there for a reason. If you plan to be going faster than the limited allows, then you should be spending actual $ on things that will make your car SAFE to drive at such speeds. Suspension brakes, etc etc. Personally, I feel that if you can't get your ECU over to JWT to have it reprogrammed, then you probably shouldn't be going that fast in the first place. 90% of why "street racing", and the bad rep that follows "spirited drivers" around, is people driving beyond the means of either themselves or their car, or both.
It seems that your computer is having issues with whatever has been done, and with signals shooting as fast as the ECU needs, that extra few feet of wire (depending on the gauge) WILL slow it down a millisecond or two. Nothing by our terms, but miles to the computer. It probably shouldn't have made a significant difference, but you've seen the end result. I'd say just put it back how it was or ship it off to Jim Wolf Tech.
