well im having a problem with my clutch. i just put a new pressure plate, t/o bearing/ and disk in. i did not replace the pilot bearing like an idiot.
anyways. it drove fine for 2 days, then i started getting this loud whining noise whenever the clutch started to engage. sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesnt.
i can tell when its going to do it. when i press the clutch in, i hear a grinding sound exactly like a throwout bearing. i dont know....
let me rephrase myself so theres no confusion. sometimes when i press the clutch down, no noise, and it drives good.
usually when i press the clutch down, and there is a grinding sound like a t/o bearing. when the clutch engages, it whines and doesnt drive so good.
please help!

Try bleeding the slave cylinder, If that does not clear it up, I hate to say you may have to pull the tranny and inspect your work. But try bleeding it first.

ok sounds good. well not really :D
i was looking at a diagram of the transmission and clutch, and i noticed that i didnt have a retainer spring. odd
ill drop the tranny down and check it out

i dropped the tranny down
the flywheel looks smooth, although there was a lot of red dust everywhere. looks like something overheated. the clutch after only 700 miles looks worn on one side more than the other, and i took it easy on it.
im going to have the flywheel resufaced, replace the pilot bearing, and hopefully get a new clutch kit since its under warrenty.

In all honesty, it sounds lik it was'nt disengageing properly. When you get it back on be sure to bleed it really good!! Good luck

oh ya, the clutch disk was litterally warped. i really dont know what to think other than it was put on there sideways or something
ill do it all myself and make sure everything is right. last time i had a friend helping me... you know how that can go sometimes

What pilot bearing are you using? Can i use a KA24 pilot bearing on my redtop? IF not, what is the part number that i need? i am doing a clutch on my car Friday. Thanks in advance.
