i'm just looking for opinions here...I have two choices:

I can swap in a manual transmission for an unknown price (probably anywhere between 100 and 600 for a full transmission and all the parts i need, god knows how much to pay someone to swap it in) and the time needed to find a shop who will do the swap

Or I can go out and find a '91 hatchback (i have a 93) that already has a manual transmission and possible an lsd or something

my only dilemma is that finding a 91 with sub-100k miles, manual transmission and lsd would take a very long time and I'd have to find someone to sell my car to at the same time...i would have the money to buy the 91, but i wouldnt want to have 2 cars for very long.  any opinions are appreciated, but please, if its not related to my question don't post it.

why do you have to pay someone to put it in, man you need the experience. when you actually complete something like that it feels good because you saved money and you know that much more about your car. i was gonna have a shop put it in but i ended up doing it myself, it was easy as fuck trust me, give it a try its worth it going from automatic to manual.

Even if I did try to install it myself I'd have to find all the parts and install it without even knowing where to start...I'm not all that experienced with the mechanical aspects of cars...I'm more into the electrical stuff.  It's also the fact that if I got a '91 I'd be getting the "better" cams and possibly an LSD...plus i could also make like 500 bucks off it...selling my '93 for about 4200 and buying a '91 for 3500-4000...the only problem is I'd have to wait around for a '91 that fits my expectations and i might upgrade my cams in my '93 anyways
