Ill get to the point I live in Virginia, there's no place to drift (legally) and not many jobs to earn a decent income (for drifting exspenses).Correct me if i'm wrong but the west coast is the opposite right? I would like to move to California or somewhere around Cali. I have some money saved up already. Is it hard to find work out there and where's a good place to reside living on your own?

p.s. I know I should figure this out myself I just want to hear you guys words of enlightenment. I appreciate your input:rawk:

What kind of jobs are you looking for?
The thing about out here is, yes you will make more money, but everyone is more expensive as well. What do you pay for rent? For the same thing out here you will pay a few hundred more at least. Food, gas everything is more expensive.
Depending on the type of job you are qualified for, you may or may not be able to find work easily.

Depends on what kind of work you CAN do, and WHERE you want to live. Unless you're in the boonies of Cali, it's expensive to find living.

yea I pay $970 for a one BR in San Rafael (thats marin county, which is one of the most expensive ones). I split that with my GF so $485/mo rent, $50 for TV and interweb, $20 for electric, $150 insurance, gas (depends on if I have a track day or not) food ect ect ect. Its EXPENSIVE to live here. I try to be as thrifty as possible and I still put about $500 into my car every month. I work full time (and a bit more) making $11/hr. Easy work, doing it right now, lol.

So the only reason you want to move here is so you can drift?

i suggest going to california and personally checking out the state and find out exactly where you would like to live. the most desireable places are bay area and LA/Orange counties - if you wanna live in any of those places, better have enough saved up for at least 6 months - or live in the hood but dont expect to have a 240 for long. because socal and the bay area is so saturated (population/popularity with mostly everyone in the country) it'll probably take you 6 months to find a decent job that will even begin to balance out the cost of living. i took a huge pay hit from 25-->$16/hour and moved to georgia and im doing better financially than I was in california - of course, less temptations in georgia has a lot to do with it. even if you did have anything saved up, you'll probably use a good chunk of it moving from coast to coast. good luck.

I am sorry jeff but someone new in the biz is not going to make 20gs a month.

And why did you quit the biz? I am a reator that makes about 5k a month and I work from 10am to about 3-4 pm. Half of that time is spent golfing. Just need to learn to use your time better. Talk to Mike Ferry :)

Speaking of golf I have my old Callaway X-12's for sale. Very nice bag and cart. 3-PW with Ram 460cc Oversized driver, Cougar driver, Putter and Sand Wedge. Make me an offer.
