Ok first things first. I got into a accident due to a tire blow out and a wet road causing me to climb the curb on the driver side. The front driver side rim, lower control arm, and inner tie rod were bent. I changed all of the above and I also decided to change the tension rods since the bushing were cracked anyways. All the parts were brand new. I installed it and took it to my buddy in nissan to get a alignment. He told me that the caster was off by 1 degree on the driver side (Accident side). He said it might be a bent spindle or strut.
Now when I drive, I have to slightly hold the steering wheel to the left since my car sways to the right if I let it go. When the steering wheel is in straight position thats when it goes to the right. Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem, also pulls slightly to the right, replaced all the parts, was also in an accident, friend told me that the frame might be bent thats why its pulling to the right a bit ( my case doesnt seem to be as extreme as yours though )
I have not gotten an alignment since my accident, so i dont know if my caster is off but my front right tire is closer to the bumper (2 fingers) than my left side w/o the accident (3 fingers)

When I went under, I didn't notice anything bent. The crossmember looked a little scratched up but thats about it.

Well, I had this problem, though I didn't have an accident. I checked everything and eventually found out it was because of uneven tire wear from asymetrical camber. One tire was worn more than the others and it tracked to the right. Though, from an accident, who knows.

have a front end alignment and ask them if anything is bent or broke they can tell you easy

I did have a 4-wheel alignment. My friend is the alignment guy at nissan.
He told me that he thinks it might be a bent spindle or strut. Maybe I should change out the sway bar and the endlinks.

errr.... if the professional tells you spindle or strut, maybe you should try swapping the spindle and strut?

He didn't say that it was the problem exactly. He just said it might be. I will try it if I can get ahold of one.

caster variation side to side will cause a pull. so fix the caster.
sway bar & endlinks will not cause a caster variation on a S-chassis.

So what do you think is causing my caster to be out of spec?

My car hella pulls to the right also. But I never got an alignment after curbing it a long time ago... It's on the to-do list though.

mines pull to the left a bit. Found out it was my left brake and rotor. It was eaten up unevenly making the spindle hard to spin.

It doesnt look like my crossmember is bent but I can see slight scratches. Would that cause slight caster problems?

Could be the strut, spindle, LCA, or tension rod. I'd guess that whatever you were told was bent by the person who actually looked at it is probably what is bent.

How about if you would have just listened to what your friend said you most likely would not have had to post this question. It could be tires, swap the front ones around see if it pulls. I am willing to bet that your strut is bent or the spindle is damaged just like what your friend said.
You could take the steering wheel off, position it so it is straight and the car does not pull....:x:

I am listening to my friend and I will be changing the parts but I can't find anyone out here who has the parts. I will check on ebay. My tires are 100% perfect because I changed them after the accident.
I also notice that when my car is parked for a while and I reverse and turn left there is a slight popping noise that comes from the passenger side ( Not accident side).

Does anyone know what could cause the popping noise when reversing.
Only happens when the car has been sitting for awhile. Also I notice when I turn all the way to the right and going on a u-turn when I let the steering wheel go it doesnt straighten itself as fast as when turning to the left.

In regards to the U-turn thing and pulling)
That's because your caster is still off by 1 degree on one side, which means something is still bent. Don't rely on your eyes alone to test for truenes of a part, looks can be decieving. Replace that strut it's probably the problem since you bent the LCA. Strut mount might be a little fucked repalce it too while you got it apart. It could also be the spindle like your buddy said but that's a bit harder to bend than the strut.
Get that shit replaced then realigned.

I'm gonna change out the strut and strut mount this week.
What might be causing that popping noise though?
