My cousin has a 93' J30 he wants to get rid of and he will let me have the VLSD. I read that the axles from the pre 95' J30 is also required.

Well what I wanted to do is swap my open diff internals and axles to his J30 and his VLSD and axles to my 240sx. Now I do not know if my axles will fit in his J30. Its all free so I wanna keep it that way only thing I would need to buy is fluid and gasket sealer. Anyone know? Otherwise Imma save up and get a real LSD.

Thanks!

EDIT: I meant 90' 240sx

You dont even need to swap internals, just rear covers. Yes the axles will work as well.

you gotta take the axles from the j30 as well. your axles will not match up to theoutput shafts on the j30 diff. and fyi, youll need a 36mm socket to get the axles out...

also, be careful tightening the 4 nuts/bolts for the differential cover to the crossmember. they only need about 30 ft lbs. i messed up and stripped one :(

cant you tell i just did this exact swap the other day? lol

Yeah I know my axles wont fit on the J30 diff if its a pre 95 model. I know I need the axles from the J30. My question was is would MY AXLES (240SX) fit the J30 car with my Diff. I need to swap everything over so the J30 will still be driveable.

I have all the Needed tools since I use to work on car so I have a nice shiny toolbox just sitting here at home.

ofcourse they will. its common sense.

you just have to make sure you have all of the bolts and screws you need because for example, i think we used the 2 j30 rear cover to crossmember bolts for the front 2 bolts on j30 diff on the 240 because the j30 diff has longer bolt holes. but besides that i think it should work. 1 other thing, dont expect to get it done in 2 hours because it takes a while

You're assuming too much. Most 240SX owners don't have common sense.
