ps i think the size of rim is 14 with +10 offset ??? tires are 225/60/14

they have no problem clearing stock s13 brakes. I might add they pook pretty damn sweet on a slammed s13 with a lower profile tire

Agreed, but remember that you're responding to a user with a red reputation square... Who actually cares about their opinion?

14's on a 240sx? Give me a break, those are going to look tiny on your car. Our stock wheels are 15 and they look small.

like 20 mins cuz i dont have a cool jack. its a stock jack and i dont even have the right tool to twist it so i can go up. i use a 19 wrench and it takes me about 5 mins just to get the car up. also i was trying to find a excuss to not put it on right now. hahaha. but yeah if it fits ill try to do it when i get back home(prolly around 9ish). right now im at school and after school i got work. ill try to post up pics too.

IMO, 280Z rims are cool! Sure they're not the best looking cuz of their small size, but they got good offsets and are dirt cheap. I plan on getting a set of swasticas myself when I can find one.

14" wheel love.
Although they look small, not everyone likes big wheels. Therefor small = good.
I will get larger than 14's someday, but I like them right now. No need to upgrade yet. untill I wanna upgrade my brakes.
I did kinda screw myself with my 14" wheel purchase. If I want to do breaks, I have to first do wheels/tires. so a break upgrade just turned expensive.
But I like the way it looks

btw did you get a full set or just a pair?

03-28-2006, 04:38 PM
haha yep my lazy ass finally DID put them on. it sucked cuz in the middle of puting it on it rained...but not too hard. but i only got a pair. im prolly gunna sell them to this guy though. if not, i ono, prolly i just keep for spare.
BTW my car will have its lip kit-ish put on when the replica of the CANADIAN side skirts i ordered get here (hopefully sometime this week). ill post up pics when they come. but the lip kit-ish includes BINGS/VEILSIDE FRONT LIP, TYPE SEALA REAR VALANCES, and CDM SIDE SKIRTS.

I don't know why so many people insist they NEED coilovers. Do you track your car? If you just want to get rid of wheel gap, buy lowering springs.
Here's an idea, instead of buying coilovers, get better tires....
FaLKoN240
03-28-2006, 05:34 PM
Get RS*R Down springs, and higher profile tires. You'll have more rubbing issues than you could've ever wanted, and you'll have about $600 to rectify the problem, since you didn't buy coils.
Ricks15
03-28-2006, 06:24 PM
Dont get the S-tec's, Or simply dont get lowering springs and put them on blown shocks, thats the worst mistake anyone can make just get coils.
eerrrrr
03-28-2006, 08:22 PM
i have gr-2's and basic tiens right now...the ride is very good compared to my stocks...even some ppl with coilovers like my setup. but i want coilovers for 2 reasons:
to make my car a tad bit lower
and most importantly to prep up for drifting.
im still debating to see if i wanna piece a turbo kit for my car (already have a couple parts) or save up for coils. but as for getting better tires, like what size then? cuz the ones on the 280z rims are 225/60 already. i was thinking about putting 215/65's on them (good? bad? i dont know), but thats if im keeping them.
SimpleSexy180
03-29-2006, 12:45 PM
when me and my friend first got the 280's from the junkyard they had 205/60 on them and it looked nasty. i cant imagine 215 :-/ its a 6 inch wide rim...
eerrrrr
03-29-2006, 02:30 PM
soooo...what size should i run them?
BTW if i plan to keep them ima use them for the front instead of the rears cuz my rims right now r bigger (17s...ghetto stagger??)...but thats only an IF...and its a big IF (so big i had to use cap to describe it).

I've got S-Tech's and KYB GR-2's. The Springs are about $115, and the Shocks were about $125. Rides like a dream. Coils for daily driving?????? HELL NO!

You have a lot to learn.
Why would you downgrade to a less-wide patch and higher profile tire? :duh:

195/55 would be fine for your rim size. It might be hard to find that size in Z rated, had a hard time finding them when I use to smob a 510. I like that old school rim look kinda brings back that Datsun flavor.
The TOYO tires T1-R come in a 195/55-14 and a 195/45-14 in R rated

i dont know. im a noobie so i ask noobie questions. plus these rims/tires r just temporary (just something to roll on so i can get my 17s off and sell them). another plus, its only a maybe. if i can get some tires for like 30 bucks then yeah ill PROLLY slap them on. but other than that ima cancel that plan and just keep my 17s on.
