does anyone know if the sender on an autometer water temp gauge will fit the stock location for an s14 sr. I wanted to install it today but was unsure if it would fit and I didn't want to take it out only to find out it wouldn't fit...lmk
btw I know about the couplers that are available but I cant get one today.

Autometer is U.S. standard, 1/8th NPT. The SR will be metric. So, no it won't fit. I have heard of tapping out the bleeder screw hole, but I personally would just wait and order a coupler for the radiator hose.
Install the gauge and run the wires and everything today, so it will take you 5 min once you get what you need to finish the install.

Many vendors make the radiator hose coupler.

Or if you want to be tricky, contact the vendor in this forum: http://www.sr20forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=114

He can make a water outlet adaptor with a 1/8 NPT tap for your sender.

Nope...went to a couple of local places and they all said I would have to get it online. One of the shops I went to said I could go to home depot and get a fitting that the sender would fit in, drill a hole into a pipe and have the fitting welded in there, and that would be my coupler(he said he would weld if for 20 bucks). I decided against that and had the guy who did my sr install tap the thermo housing and I put the sender there.

You need a 1.25" adapter. I got mine off the unholy ebay.
