I have a set of S13 Dual Halogens...i was wondering how are the lights suppose to be lit up...when you turn on the headlights are all four headlights suppose to turn on or just the outter ones? some people tell me just the outter ones are suppose to light up and the inside lights are the high beams..and then i herd that all four of them should turn on when you turn on the headlights..anyways i just wanna clear up who is right and who is wrong thanx.

Outer lights are High beam AND Low beam. Inner lights are Fogs. More specifically H4 High/Low, and H3C fog lights. H3C can be tough to find sometimes, so there is a method you can use to run H3 bulbs in their place. Like this: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/lighting/h3conversion.html
Our lights don't have that extra screw though. So when my H3Cs burn out, I'll have to figure out a way to wire it up that is similiar.

I always thought they were just H3.. H3C never heard of that.. Thanks for the info

^I'll let you know when I install mine. If the output sucks I'll just swap in some projectors and FK lenses.

So we're talking about the "rectangle" reflector lights for the S13 Silvia right?

Those lights didn't look too bright when I rode shot gun in a car with these lights on low beam, and the road was dark as hell. Just slightly better than the sealed beam units for the pop up lights, but it flares up to the left and not right, which was kinda dangerous.

How are you guys getting by with the flare to the left anyway?

lol the stock 240 lights are alot better than these s13 lights well at least i think so.... i have yellow bulbs in the middle that i turn on when im on a street with no lights or cant see....

lol i would like to see some projectors retrofitted in...

it doesnt really bother anyone...at least i dont think it does... i think my headlights point down anyways... i want to point them up a bit but i dont know if its possible...

i have the dual halogens on my car and have the "fog lights" wired up to the old pop up switch they do use H3C and i'm running raybrig bulbs in em with a lil higher wattage then stock, the stock lighting sucks if you are only using the low beams so i use the low beams along with the fogs (which actually look like brights) and to the post above me you can adjust the angle of the lighting on the back of the housings with i believe an 8mm socket or a philips screwdriver

So are you guys talking about the dual projector housings? Or the "brick style" reflector housings?

They're talking about the halogens, hence "brick style" reflector housings.

Yeah the lighting sucks ass, i have to run with the fogs on otherwise it's even worse.

I think you can use either 8mm socket or philips to adjust the aiming screws, but it's easier to use the socket due to the amount of room you have to work with.

When I had my Silvia front on my Sil-Eighty, the bulbs that came on my duals were pretty bright. They were white in color.

its pretty much bolt on...are you talking about the actual installing the lights or wiring it up? if your talking about the actual installation of the lights there are 2 studs that go through the fender and then i think 2 screws that go through the bracket iirc...

if your talking about wiring.... all i did was plug in the normal h4 harness into the high and low.... and then convert the fogs into h3...which is pretty much the link a few posts back on top and then taping it into the positive wire to my brown wire iirc off of the stock popup button....

thats pretty much it...let me know if you need any more help....sorry i cant provide any pictures because i dont own a camera =(

See, referring the lights to "dual halogen" is stupid, because all headlight bulbs are halogen, unless you're talking about the HID lights, which are xenon, and no S13 headlights were HID lights.

There are the dual reflectors, dual projectors, and triple projector headlights, and is much easier to understand which one you're talking about when referring to them as that.

Projector housings are supposed to spread the light more evenly and produce a much better cut off, but early Nissan projector housings kinda sucked (I had a 90 Z32 TT so I would know). Best way to get awesome lighting is to retrofit HID projector housings into either the dual projector or triple projector housing, and use the HID bulbs (I forget which one's low beam and which one's high beam, but there are the D2S and D2R), and make sure your cutoff is like _/_/ for the LHD setup.

The inners are actually auxillary high beams, meant to come on when the outer high beams are on. I hooked mine up to an oem Silvia foglight switch.
I bought my dual reflectors brand new, and they had very good light output, better than either pop-ups and 100x better than projectors, so I don't know why everyone is getting stuck with sucky reflectors....

Yea what he said ^^^ There were no foglights on the silvia's that came with the dual reflectors.

Dual reflectors cost the cheapest of the S13 Silvia lights brand new but on the street there the most expensive, go figure. There site has been down but I think there in the neighborhood of $229 each brand new.

don't forget guys, that the lighting is aimed for the RH drive car. When your sitting LH it tends to seem like the lighting sucks, just my .02 on the matter.
