My co-worker is trying to buy a truck, and one particular seller he's talking to is apparently using "ebay used car inspection services" to handle the sale.
I googled it and Ebay does offer such services through a company called SGS, so it SEEMs legit.
The problem is the process seems needlessly shady; to even look at the car he's required to put $2500 into a Western Union (credit union/bank) Ebay account; ebay/SGS will then send him the car. He gets to keep the car for 3 days, and then has to decide to buy it and pay the remainder or return the car.
Lots of work just to sell a used truck....so what have u guys heard? This service legit, or what?
