Sorry, i knw i ask this b4 but wat size speakers does the '97 240 use, both the door panel & the rear deck...

I had the same problem after i bouight my Polk 6-1/2's and had to jimmy rig them to fit.

But you need 6-3/4

Matt is correct.  They are also called "oversized" 6 1/2"s.

so should i definitly get 6 3/4" or would 6 1/2 still work???

I have 6 1/2"s in mine, but you have to be careful how you fasten it. &nbsp;The rule we used when I was an installer was, three screws have to be in the mounting plate, securely. &nbsp;So thats what I did with mine. I couldn't rip them out if I wanted!
