5 Speed to Auto (s13 & s14)

Ok here is how it starts. A friend of mine has a 96 s14 Auto and he is about to get a s13 not to sure what year but its a 5 speed. I know it pretty straightforward with the 5 speed to auto but what he wants to do is to swap the 5 speed from the s13 to his s14 and his auto from his s14 into the s13.

Is it about the same procedure or is there alot things that need to be done.

Reason for doing this is because his wife will be driving the s13 and she prefers auto.
